[WIPz] An-Arane Cey: Armor of the Fallen

Post » Tue Feb 01, 2011 9:40 pm

That has actually been suggested! And it's on the list of possibilities! :foodndrink: My armor wish list right now is short, that's at the top, along with the player receiving Light or Heavy depending on their skill (Also from KotN) and a more female friendly version of the female version as well. :D Still hunting for a modeler for that.

May I suggest you look at Running4Cover's Wellynd Armors? Those look absolutely awesome.

LOL We have actually looked at his! We have the textures already. It's a modeler we need now. :D The textures are fantastic as well. What I'm holding out for is someone to take the female version of the Elven Armor and make it more fitted for us girls. Let's face it. Most armor in vanilla Oblivion does not take the female form into account well, if at all. I'd like ours to not fall into that rut. We Girl gamers deserve some armor love in Oblivion. :foodndrink:

When complete will you be packaging this and your first part of the mod together?

I'd like to have two downloads for this. One with just the sequel for those who already have the first mod completed and another that packages the two together. I'll have to ask Mage about it. :D As I'd think we could only package the Non-OBSE version of Lost Sword with Armor of the Fallen. The sequel doesn't use the script extender.

Work is puttering along well, despite the holiday season! :embarrass: Though it is slowing us up a bit. The first two dungeons are impressive to say the least, even incomplete. Da Mage and CoolShady are doing an amazing job! :foodndrink:

Afternoon kids! Just a bump to let you know we're still here and still working! Though the holiday season and the release of the g.e.c.k. has slowed things down a bit. :embarrass: We'll be back at with bells on after everyone's had their xmas!

In the meantime, work on the dungeons, weapons and armor goes on! Just slowed a bit by Santa. His elves keep streaking the builders and distracting them.

What about Varla stones? Will you make a Varla armour? maybe Varla armour is the Heavy one and Welkynd the Light one

Nope, we're sticking to Welkynd stone. If you look at the weapons images in the first post, you'll see we're not only using the blue texture but have created an original blood red texture for the welkynd stone as well. :foodndrink: and the armor already looks wicked.

-We've made a slight adjustment to the size of our mod. Rather than the Five dungeons we had initially planned, we will be doing Three now, in addition to a forge for our Smith. This makes the work load more manageable and helps us ensure that release will come sooner after the new year rather than later. We're as anxious to finish and play as you are! :foodndrink:

This has been mainly caused by the lack of builders, however the custom dungeons are quite extensive and should keep you interested. Ideas for the mod are still in production so i suppose changes will are to be expected.

I would gladly help with dungeon building if you wish. I just need ideas for what you want it to be like.

We may take you up on that Con!! :foodndrink: When Mage gets on tonight, I'll get you two together and he can tell you what we still need and if you'd be interested! First dungeon is almost done. Woo! The second and third dungeons are around 50% maybe? Not gonna give details. Don't wanna ruin the surprise. LOL

Suffice to say I've learned my way around the CS now and Mage is going to have me cluttering til my eyes bleed soon, I just know it! :biglaugh:

damn, you really haven't made a backup?
I hope this doesn't cause some months delay...anyway, keep up the excellent work you've started with Lost Sword of the Ayleids!

By all means if you have the time, keep working on it! Mage is back in school which means progress has slowed to a crawl. :embarrass: Any and all helping hands are welcome and frankly, I'd much rather have you finish your dungeon and preserve the unique differences of the various builds. The one you've created for us is genius. :foodndrink: And beautiful.

Just a minor update here. :foodndrink: Work is going slowly at the moment on account of Mage has started up school again. LOL CoolShady is, I think, still working on his as yet unfinished dungeon for us. I'm plugging away at the writing and dialogue. We'll get her done one of these days! Bear with us and know that we haven't abandoned the project! Nor will it ever be! We want to see it finished and released as much as you do!

Now...back to the grindstone... :poke:

Right, to prevent the hijacking of Darkrder's thread, I will post this here. Yes, I am still working on the dungeon, albeit slowly and sporadically. It seems that we are having a communication problem as well which is hindering progress, hopefully we can get that sorted. I have sent you the email again so let me know if you do or do not get it.

Are new videos planned? The intro and outro of Lost Sword of the Ayleids were of really good quality, I hope to see more in the next part.

They are indeed. :foodndrink: Mage does wonderful work with the videos as does Darkrder with voice acting. Dialogue is already written for the opening video sequence in fact and a general outline for what will be in it to open the quest.

Grabbed some dev shots from two of the Dungeons today. :D Just in case anyone is interested. These are still in progress of course, though close to finished and I've tried not to give away too much with them. Enjoy!

Looks interesting...especially pictures 1-3 & 6. However, the pictures would have been better when made with FSAA enabled (instead of HDR probably, not sure which one is on in this case). I always like those super-shiny high resolution, ultra AA showcase screens :)
Anyway, keep up the excellent work! Part 1 was great!

Only just noticed these :P

The 4-6 are from mine, but the trouble is all the awesome parts of the dungeon would give away the stroy (not to mention WhoGuru didnt have the whole thing back then). And it would seem that 5 & 6 are in a cell that hadnt had its lighting finished yet (they should be dark and glommy like 4.).
