Arcade VS Reality

and lone wolfs and kill stealers lol

Agreed but no matter what there are going to be lone wolfs and kill stealer's. It's like the saying you cant put a wolf in sheep clothing a lone wolf is going to do his own thing even in Brink will prob see the majority of lone wolfs playings as Operatives and Medics to heal themselves/ disguise themselves to get around easier. Kill steals will always happen because everyone is fighting for that xp and better end results. That is one great thing about Brink you get xp for how much dmg you did you that enemy so if somone does try and steal your kill you will still get xp for the amount of dmg you did. Anyways who really cares if you get your steal killed anyways sometimes those people save your butt just saying  and this is a team oriented game so its all good.

KDR will also cure cancer, bring my grandfather back from the grave, and give me the next series of winning lottery numbers.

This would almost make KDR worth it.

Almost.

Most of the options depend on the mood I'm in, so I'm not filling in the poll.

I'll have separate games for real/arcade. This year BRINK will satisfy my Arcade and BF3 will satisfy my real. I like them both but I also like when they do not try and merge... Because a realistic arcade shooter sounds like an oxymoron to me.

Arcade-like gameplay is what you are referring to when you say arcade? What does that mean?

And I guess "real" is like "realistic" gunplay--Headshot=one-hit kills and all that?

If that's what you are referring to in terms of "real", then maybe I likes the Arcade gameplay.
I like visible enemy health bar (used to RPG's and all of that, so I don't mind seeing it).

Graphic style? I like both Brink and Borderlands, but I can't decide, but I think I really like the cel-shaded look of Borderlands a bit more. (Blasphemy, I know!)
However, color-wise, I like Brink.

No one-hit kills for me. Game would be over (for me) too fast. I like to stay in the game as long as possible, and I like a somewhat fast pace and action-y feel in games.
(That's why I don't play games like turn-based JRPG's, RTS's, and other tactical games anymore--I don't have time or patience for that. I don't have much
time in real life to dedicate to games, so I want to get to the action as fast as possible.).

No K/D ratios shown, BUT, I don't mind if people can see their own K/D's.

If someone tells me their K/D's, though, I'll just tune them out since I do not like hearing about that kind of thing (it ruins the fun for me and
is one of the big reasons I don't usually play online with my shooter games. I hate hearing people brag and degrade/put other people down
with those stats on the forums and in the gaming community and act like that's the only thing that matters, ugh).

ugh , i'm not even gonna dignify this poll  main reasoning is i don't see Brink as Arcade styled graphics there fore i'm not voting for that. really if you don't like the graphics it's fine but please stop trying to mold it into another CoD, that's what we're trying to break away from here at Bethesda and Splash Damage.

I don't want it to be a "vs", there are plenty of features on both sides that I wouldn't mind seeing and I wouldn't mind a nice shift toward center with the rest.

I agree

EDIT: I just realized something. If Brink isn't trying to be realistic, why did they take out akimbo pistols due to unrealism?

It's not trying to be unrealistic either. It's one of those middle ground games (although tilted more toward the arcade in certain ways). That and you can't really climb a wall while you're holding a weapon in each hand.

I enjoy both types of gameplay, although arcade like is a bit more fun for me.

I like me health bars.

BRINK style. Although I love crysis, I don't think those graphics would work on a game like brink. The gameplay and the environment would feel very different, as in realistic and not so realistic respectively.

No OHK.

I wouldn't mind seeing my own KDR, but as that will mostly lead to some dumbos gloating about how big their e-peen is all game, I can do without it.

Sorry but your vote has not altered the statistics still looks like Brink ideas are winning by a far margin.

Don't worry.

You're not alone.

I'm surprised it's got as few votes as it does.
