Credits********************************************************************1. InstallationUnzip "k7_arcane_archery.7zip" and extract the "Data Files" folder to your "The Elder Scrolls III" directory, or whichever directory has your"Data Files" folder in it. A message box will appear, informing youthat the folder is of the same name and may overwrite some files.Say "Yes" to this message box and continue. You will receive similarmessages regarding "Texture", "Meshes" and "Icons" folders- agree tothese individually, or simply hit "Yes to all"If these message boxes DO NOT appear, then you have done somethingwrong and should check your directories. Make sure that you areunzipping/extracting all files to your "The Elder Scrolls III" directory, and NOT into your "Data Files" folder. If this happens, you will nowhave a "Data Files" folder INSIDE your original folder (of the samename). Simply select that folder, press CTRL and X (which will "cut"the folder) and back out of your directory until the "Data Files" folder appears. Then hit CTRL and V to paste, and you should receivethe messages described above.********************************************************************2. ModificationsThis mod adds a new minifaction - the School of the Ebony Bow. Its studentsare taught the secrets of creating enchanted arrows by channeling their own magicka. The school is located east of Sadrith Mora (right behind the hills). The system of getting new arrows is rather simple - you cast a spell and dependingon your skill in the appropriate school of magicka you'll get 25-50 enchanted arrows(the number depending on the spell). They're weightless and replenished with everycasting of the spell. **PLEASE REPORT ALL BUGS TO ME. CONTACT INFO AT THE BOTTOM.**********************************************************************3. I think I'll need to alter the dialogue a bit - there are only two quests given in the school ATM, starting when you want to become a master. before you need to hone your skills (and I might have forgotten to set one of the students to train you as I planned to do :embarrass: ) and ask the Dunmer master about promotion.

I really liked playing through the mod, and the arrow spells and effects are pretty nice. I like the backstory you gave to the mod, so many mods that add things like this just add them to a chest or NPC and call it a day. The way you become a master in the school was interesting, I really had fun tracking these people down. I'll continue to use it in my future games, and that's about the highest praise I can give. If I may suggest something, I think it would be nice to have a spell to summon up 100 or 150 plain arrows with no magic effects, like as practice, or maybe for when you're really high level and have to limit your godlike powers to have any fun.

I can tell you worked hard on this mod, but I did have a few problems. When I talked to Eredon and asked him to make me an ebony bow, he took my money and ebony, like he should. When I came back the next day, he told the bow was completed, but nothing was added to my inventory. He just repeats himself if I click on the topic again. So I clicked on "craft arrows" and he told me he was still making something for me. I've waited up to a week and still got the same result. I went ahead and finished the school questline, so in the end, I didn't care about getting his ebony bow. :P

When I achieved master rank and tried to buy more spells from Saryanil, my game crashed if I highlighted the Imbue Arrow: Disintegration spell. I tried it several times to be sure that's what it was. Very strange, I've never had that happen to me before. It was being sold for 1gp, so you might want to fix that. I could buy the others just fine.

Raviso Andalas gives no way of progressing the story. Asking about a savant makes him refer to himself, and I didn't see any other topic that didn't come in the original game. Thankfully, I knew where to go, anyway.

Like I said, this mod was really fun for me to play. I like your taste in bow models, too. While I could just use the original mods they came with, the free arrows they had really felt like cheating. Now there's a way to have them in my game and have some kind of cost associated with them. Good job on the mod. :foodndrink: :goodjob:

Well, the mod was supposed to be a single NPC in Sadrith Mora selling the spells (for my Expansion project). Later I added the school, separated it from SME and added the few quests & crafting. I'm glad you like the NPC hunt - did you find them all? And summoning mundane arrows doesn't fit with arcane archers (or should I say - my view of them). Though something for a high-level PC is something to consider in the future.

Is there any good soul out there who could explain me, why the "player->additem x y" worked in the case of issuing bows to the pc and giving him a quest reward, and didn't in the crafting dialogue? (though "player -> additem "x" y" did :brokencomputer: )

See kids, this is what you get when you forget to add any spell effects to a spell available for the pc to get :ninja:

Raviso Andalas gives no way of progressing the story. Asking about a savant makes him refer to himself, and I didn't see any other topic that didn't come in the original game. Thankfully, I knew where to go, anyway.

Well, I somehow managed to forget there are two savant classes when writing the dialogue :embarrass:

Thanks!

Just a small thing.

Eredon's Custom Fletching Price List is for bows and arrows, but mentions custom armor in the text.

Also, Grandmaster Saryanil's journal entry "...five masters who are located throught Vvardenfell ..." should be throughout.

Thanks for the info Sieboldii! (The problems aren't major though, so I think they can wait until I finish the next version)

[Conjures a broom to clean the dust which have gathered]

Anyone has any ideas/comment? I'm planning to do a small update - fixing the texts mentioned by Sieboldii, adding a few new imbues and a sidequest or two.

So glad to hear you're going to be working on this somemore. If you want, and if it's possible, would you like some custom sounds?

I really like the ability to imbue arrows. Although, there are some that I do not use.

Well, I can't think of any sounds I'd need right now, but thanks for the offer! (If you have any ideas please post them though)

Out of curiousity - which imbues do you find most/least useful? And are there any effects you'd like to add to the list of possible ones?

It is probably just personal preference, really. The one I use most is paralyzation, the least, hmm, burden.
