Arcanum Xircxese- Chapter one

Post » Wed Dec 30, 2009 2:58 pm

To some, Power is something that should be used only for the greater good, they believe that it should be limited. Others wish to gain power and use it to gain control, strike fear in others hearts and rule. Few evil or not, strive to gain the title of gods, or become godlike. Almost an era ago when my people made Vvardenfell their homeland, sharing it with the legendary Dwemer, tools of vast power split the houses, and damned a race to extinction. The Dwemer saught to gain enough power to become Gods themselvs. Kargrnak a rune master of his race, forged tools to help him and his race reach this power. With the Heart of Lorkhan he made these tools soon leading to war. But war did not destroy the dwemer. Something happened after, leaving the tinkering race erased from existance and the tools in the hands of Nerevar Indoril and his four close friends Amelexia, Sotha Sil, Vivec, and Dagoth Ur. But like all mortals, a degree of curiosity and ambition lingers inside. Nerevar suspected ambition in his ranks. So He wished to hide the tools, keep them from being used. He gave them to his close dear friend Dagoth. But as respectible and almost inoccent as Dagoth was, Ambition took its hold. Soon Nerevar was forced to take action, but as a friend takes a dagger into his fellow mans back, so to does the ambitious ones into his. After he killed Dagoth the Three tribunal killed Nerevar and soon became Gods themselvs. as history passed they turned the minds of their people, erasing the history from civilization making it myth. But the Ashlander tribes kept this history and Hoped that soon Nerevar would be reborn......

Part 1
The master, or Apprintice

* Fear and excitment had filled up inside. The maze was difficult with traps at almost everyturn and dead ends almost made the maze impossible to get through. But in the young mans eyes the maze was beauty with black marbel walls and statues. To him it was art. But as his attention focused more and more at his objective he became nervouse and more sensible to his surroundings. Only thought threw his mind was to get out of the maze and hopefully he would learn the lesson. He was walking at first but now as he thought about the opponent and time he picked up the pace and began to run. He was lucky he was not hitting any dead ends. This maze will test your skills in different forms, use your spells to your advantage. What did he mean by this? He said under his breath wondering what the master wizard ment by this. He couldn't spare time to think about an answer he needed to keep going and stay lucky But soon he turned a corner and forced himself to a sliding stop almost making him fall forward. Fortunate he didn't fall. Before him was a vast chasm. A dead end? What happened to my luck? He thought back to while he was running, he was sure this path he was taking was right, there couldn't be any mistake, but its a maze its ment to seem like that in some places. But before he could turn around the wizards words bounced around in his head. His question was now answered. So a test of magicka then, what we have learned. He looked down into the chasm, the bottom couldn't be seen it was dark. He then looked across, the path continued. He gave a smirk then centered himself and remembered a spell.

He began to lift up into the air, the simplest spell for a now simple situation. He continued to smirk and then stepped forward walking over the chasm. He was almost there now about halfway. But he then halted as the hairs at the back of his neck tingeled as they pricked up. It is not nessacery but you may be challenged by competition of one another so your skills in deffensive and offensive magicka will be tested aswell. Even near the end... the wizards voice began again in the mans memory and he turned his head to face a roaring fire ball speeding twards him. He had enough time to react by bending backwards dodging the fire ball. his attention then caught the other Dunmer that was on his on path far to the side of him. He was starting to cast another fire ball. C'mon Vastien don't let him get you side tracked. Vastien started to walk forward again a bright blue light forming around his right hand abd another fireball flew past. He dodged, barely, it skimmed his left side of his face leaving a bad burn, this would scare. when Vastien felt his frost ball was enough he forced it speeding twards the other dunmer, it missed but it through off his concentration on casting giving Vastien enough time to cross what was left of the chasm. His right foot made it to the floor but then the spell wore off making him slip down but catching himself on the edge. He then heard menacing laughter, he knew his opponent was over the chasm.

Vastien struggeled for a few brief seconds but made his way up onto the floor then began to run again. He knew his opponent was a bit ahead of him now, but he knew what would even it up, The Master Wizard never said anythign against using fortifying magicka. again Vastien smirked then closed his eyes concentrating. Soon his legs began to move faster and he didn't get tired. It wasn't much, the spell only lasted a good five seconds, but every second and ground made up is good time to have. He soon felt it ware off but he stopped when he entered a long and wide hallway. What made him stop was the fact that the hallway was pitch black, no light shun. He knew the right spell, give himself night vision but soon he heard footsteps coming from the side hall. He backed back into the one he emerged from and peeked his head a little bit out. It was his opponent who now stood. Vastien thought, and smirked. He would know to use night eye. Soon a magical aura appeared around the dunmer, he clearly used the spell, then he began t sprint down the long hallway. Vastien had already prepared a spell and flung it at his opponent making a light illuminate from his target. A smart plan, the man wouldn't feel the spell and Vastien could follow down the hallway.

After a few minuts of following down the tunnel light appeared again and the spells on the opponent wore off. Vastien stood in the dark shadow though as his opponent came to a halt turning his head to look behind him. A few more minutes went by and the man shruged his feelings off and began to run down the right hallway. Vastian made a sighe of reliefe then started down the left hallway. minutes were running by as he ran. A left turn here, a right turn, then another left turn. He needed no luck on where to go now, there where no other turns just a straight path. He began to get fatigued, sweat rolling down his face. His pace slowed but he found him self entering a large round room. He stopped running and fell to his knees. There where no more hallways, not even a door to exit , besides one that perched high up on the far wall across from him. He could levitate up to it but soon a figure came in view to the side of his right eye. A chuckle came. "So the dwemer artifact in the center of the room and only one door to leave." Vastien rose to his feet and he then saw the lone pedestool in the center of the room with a Dwemer cup sitting ontop it. "It is clear what needs to be done here Vastien, Only one of us will win this honor."

Vastien had caught his breath and glared at his opponent. "So then Rethian, Do what you must. I will not harm you, although I should for all the years you have tempered me, and bullied my friends." More laughing came. "Being a Telvanni is to be stronger, you Vastian are weak."
"Then Rethian, let us see who is the smarter!" Vastien smirked again but the battle had started again. Rethian had thrown a series of fire balls at Vastian, but Vastian was quick and had already shielded himself with a magicka shield blocking them.

Rethian frowned but sprinted for the dwemer cup but vastien had sent a lightning jolt at him making him fly back sliding on the floor. It was a weak attack but was only ment to keep Rethian from reaching the artifact. Vastian had now had made his way for it but was hit with a spell that drained his fatigue and he fell to his knees, and pain filled him. He must have also used poison. Vastian used a dispell spell then a lightning jolt came, but Vastian absorbed it in his hand and sent it back at Rethian but not hitting him. Now it was a real battle, one to be apprintice attacking, the other defending himself from the attacks, and occasionally sending harmfull attacks that would cripple the opponent. The fight went on for minuts but soon as all wizards do, someone would run out of energy to cast spells. Vastian was very lucky in this area. He had the birth magick of the Atronauch, his natural ability of Womburn. He couldn't rest up his energy, but he could occasionally absorb it. but with his good luck he was absorbing every spell that he missed to deflect or block. but Rethian learned from the past years and with his last bit of energy he sent a spell that completely drained Vastians energy, and fatigued him aswell.

They both dropped to their knees. Heavy breathing filled the room. "Now who is the strongest Rethian? And now i see it truly, You are a coward. If you can't win you will bring the others around you down with you!" Rethian became enraged then with the little energy he had come back he charged a powerfull spell. He then sent it charging to Vastian, if it hit him it would surely kill him. He knew Rethian was quick to do thinks and didn't think about consequences or his actions but to do this. Why would Rethian hate him so? No matter, Vastian knew if his gift didn't help him the nhis life has ended, all he could do is close his eyes, and brace for what ever happenes.....

----------------------

I am a telvanni, Though, not born with thier blood. Im not a noble, I have no claim for respect, Though these people treat me with respect. The telvanni are a crued people. I don't share their ways, or help in their cause for conquesting land for their uneccessary expansions. To the citizens I am known for my research and my reputation of a wizard. I am not crued, I seek not to bring harm for expansion or research. Slaves I have yes, but are they truely slaves? I baught them from the merchants, but I take the marks of slavery away. They only serve me because I respect them, I treat them like a person, and not a tool. I've taught many young apprentices. Yet I have no apprentice to call my own. Its not because I don't wish to share my knowledge. As I said the Telvanni are crued, They abuse power without consequence. My knowledge of higher power isn't wisely shared to anyone who seek to use it to destroy, but to one that can research and see it for what it is and be trained to use it. I want my apprintace to be ever learning, curious. He or she needs no ambition to abuse any power. Maybe An image or reflection of myself? Or is this myself I wish to teach? Maybe, maybe not. There are few young Telvanni out there who wish to take things slow and think logically about every action... This young dunmer, Vastien though. He is different, very different then the others. Put down by the rest because he thinks differently, he seeks to help others and has no wishes for harm. I have seen him, after my classes. Rethian, another apprintace, tempers him. Making phisical insults and attacks. But vastien only takes the beatings. To some telvanni Vastien is weak. But the maze will test him, and show his true self... If rethian doesn't kill him first.

~~~
~ I watched from above the maze. The two apprintaces did well through it, well the young Dunmer named Vastien did. The other, Rethian, Ran through the maze using magicka to fortify his speed, but hit dead ends and traps. A bold but unintelligent young telvanni, even a real telvanni wizard would smack him around with his pitifull attempts. From this platform high above the maze I watched closely. I made no sudden movments, no twitching or waving. My right hand settled on the railing and my left held to my staff. It was not a very crafty item. It was made of old ashwood from the ashlands, its real color is grey but with the magicka in it made a spark of life giving it a brown color. The tip of the bottom to the twisting bark up top which held a crystal only stood about four inches from my chin, right at the top of my chest. Aside of its horrid look, it was a great companion indeed. Soon twinkeling orange lights came from the large chasm. The two Apprintaces were now almost halfway through. who set off the fight first was clear. Rethian was on the left, Vastien on the right, and Vastien made no attempts to fight back, but something came out. A bright Cyan color spell, Frost most likely made its way to Rethian. It was close but it never hit him. A clever move in this game. To just make the opponents concetration fall while you make an escape.
Some would say this is cowardice, but over a large chasm, and a minor levitation spell a normal apprintace knows only would last a few seconds. So its either fight and fall, or end the fight and get out of a doom of dark abyss. but vastien barely made it to the ledge. He fell but caught it with his hands. I just watched as Vastien struggled for a brief few seconds then made his way up and again ran. "How is the test procceeding?" A voice came from my right side. I made no attempts to look away from the maze, but I had already known who it was. "It is going well, It might be done in a record time this run." I answered then took my hand from the railling and into the brown satchel that hung to my side over my green ragged robes. I pulled out a long oak pipe and then took my grip away from the staff leaving it standing tall on its own, handeled the pipe then braught out a small portion of tabaco and placed it inside the head of the pipe then left my index finger in the head and lit the tabaco. Putting the mouth piece in my mouth and took my posture again leaving my right hand off the railing holding my pipe instead in its place. "You mean your record Sparda? Didn't you say all those years ago no one would ever beat it?" We both gave a chuckle. "I said not in a long time it wouldn't be beaten. But Vastien is actually making a steady progress. Haha!" I laughed lowly and pointed with his pipe. "A smart one he is. Having Rethian go through the shadow first with Night eye, and then uses a light spell so he can smile. Very clever." I put the pipe back in my mouth and with my side vision I watched an old Dwemer artifact, or machine?
It didn't matter, It was a time teller from what I figured out. With the four sun symbols at the top, bottom, and two sides, then in between where numbers in the Dwemer language. "Its only been a half an hour. They have only the long hallway with no other turns and then the end room with the cup."
"So which one will you pick? this is the seventh time you had two apprintaces go at it in the maze, You have yet to pick your own."
"Well its certainly not Rethian High Wizard. I thought you would know this sicne you are what your title intends after all." I turned my head to the other elder Dunmer at my side, giving crazy eyed gaze.
"Then why put them in the maze? If you know Vastien is the one you can train then why put the two enemies together?"
"I know I havent seen everything Vastien has to offer as a wizard. He doesn't use magicka as reclessly as most telvanni apprintaces, even wizards." I turned my head back to the maze huffing out a large ball of smoke which formed into a walking guar. Thjere was no more talking but I knew he still stood at my side. And vastien had made it to the large room. I glanced at the "clock" and then watched as Rethian Entered. "Now comes the lesson which has awaited Rethian for a long time." I said with a spite sharper then the evil glare of the mistress of Tel Mora. I gave a nod then made my way off the platform via levitation then made my way down a large pathway that led to the back door of the large room. I pulled the lever that was to the side and the doors opened quietly and I stepped inside watching the two from above. the battle had started.
Rethian was sending a series of Fire balls raging on Vastien but he deflected them away with his hands. This was a very unique gift rarely seen, only one other "Telvanni" Could do this. I watched as Rethian tried to run to the cup but Vastien had pushed him far back sliding on the floor from a lightning jolt from his fingers. By the looks of the impact and radious it was a very weak spell but had enough kick to keep Rethian away from the cup. I watched as minutes went by and soon Rethian was getting tired, But Vastien had another trick, a birth gift of the Atronach. Like Me, he could absorb energy from spells and he could last longer then most, but the gift doesn't always do this. As rethian was weak he used his last bit of energy to send a reb bolt of magicka that hit vastien and also crippled him. Now who is the strongest Rethian? And now i see it truly, You are a coward. If you can't win you will bring the others around you down with you! Vastien spat out. But Rethia ngave no answer intead with the energy he rested up he charged a large spell. My eyes widened. He wanted to kill vastien? WHY? Rethian had released the large yellow and white bolt of doom. There I sprang into the battle. To end it. I lunged infront of Vastien at the approaching spell.
"YOU COWARD! FOOL! DISGRACE FOR ALL MAGICKA USERS!" I yelled out then held my hand out and held the spell at bay. To a normal wizard master this would give atleast a pain that would last for weeks. But I am not A normal wizard of the Telvanni, Not by any standards. I could feel the spells energy though. It was a tingeling senstaion a mixture of blinding light and the elements and every harmful spell you could use. It was such and evil creation only to kill. But soon the speel became unstable, the liquid like Magicka was spitting itself out like a solar flare from the sun. "Curse you evil thing!" I said lowly and then forced my staff throug hthe center and the large bolt was gone. I forced the bottom of my staff to the ground making a large cracking sound. "S-ssssp..." Vastiens words were trembeling as he tried to stand up. But damage had been done. He was fatigued and his strength gone. I knelt down inspecting wha tthe symptoms of the spell were. I could not find just one or two symptoms, there was many things going on. "what spell did you use rethian?" I asked with a deep low tone. I turned my head to catch an answer but there was none. "What spell?" I raised my tone louder.
"DAMN YOU BOY!" I bellowed standing up then rushed my way to the now gettign up and trembeling apprintace. I took my hands to his shoulders and bega nto shake him. "I SWARE BY THE NINE AND AZURA IF YOU DON'T TELL ME THE SPELL AND THIS YOUNG MAN DIES YOU WILL FIND TORTURE A MORE PLEASENT PUNISHMENT!" I shot out in rage and Rethian looked into my eyes with terror. I was always told my eyes changed in a way. They are said to glow wildly whe nI was enraged. True or not I didn't care, it was another tool in my arsenal against people. I stared at the young man and soon he began to stutter then he came clear. "I-i..Used multiple."
"What then boy!?"
"I drained hi-his strength then f-fatigue, and..." He stopped to think.
"What else boy! Tell me now!" I sook him a bit more wit han attempt to make him spit it out.
"Poison!" He yelled out and I forced my grip away.
"Get out of here, The High wizard will deal with you!" I turned back to Vastien, I knew the High wizard was watching from the doorway. Vastien was shivering now. The poison was making its way threw his body swiftly. I placed my left hand on his forehead and then closed my eyes and began to mutter words of a dead language. "Lelundha merha ek undrei" I felt the spell flow threw me and opened my eyes. Uneder my hand was a bright silver light. It soon faded and I then lifted Vastiens head up. "Vastien?" I asked, calling his name. He didn't open his eyes, and no signs of breathing. I sat there watching, the spell worked I knew it did. It had too, unless it was too late. All I could do was sit there and watch. Soon his right leg twitched behind me and he opened his eyes and gasped for breath. I gave a sighe of releife and then smiled. Vastien looked around, he was disoriented, of course he was stil fatigued and weak but the spells effects were dispelled and destroyed. Soon he went unconcious again and I lifted him up and made a sharp whistle and then levitated back up to the door my staff following after levitating itself. The high wizard was gone and so was Rethian, leaving my path clear. I exited the room then stepped on a round pad that was across from the door and soon a circleing white light formed and then went away, We were back in my tower. I stepped of fthe pad, my staff made its way to next to a small desk that sat near the far wall of the circular room.
It was a Telvanni tower, made of a large plant and crystals. I levitated again since there was no stairs. Floating my way upwardes through a tunnel in the cieling. then emerging in the entry hall. It was small light by small candels that floated in midair. A centurian rolled its way around the room, my personal guard of dwemer make. I then proceeded up a spiraling staircase and then came to a large round door which opened itself to me then I entered another circular room with a large tree in the center, surounded by a railing. I levitated again and turned around. I went forward and set down on the floor to my Apprintaces new room. It was small, only luxury was a bed, a small desk and a closet. I laid Vastien on his bed then left him to rest. I then made my way up again through another tunnel in the ceiling then entered my quarters, my private study. It held many enchanted artifacts and old weapons, scrolls and many many books. My desk was small and many soul gems laid on its surface. I sat down in the chair behind it and looked around the room then leaned back and closed my eyes.
I finally had an apprintace, after twenty years of being a master wizard. I finally had someone to call, my succesor...
Nice :tops:
Seems you made the same mistake I made, you posted it too early. Run it through a spellchecker and you'll see what I mean.
Apprintice = apprentice
You swapped the words threw and through
threw is past tense of throw
Example: "I threw him through the wall."
Sadrith Mora
* The Mages Guild was quiet and empty with the exeption of Skink-and-Trees standing around in the corner reading a book. It was finally peacefull enough for him to read, when the guild room was filled it usually was loud and sometimes annoying. Between the Conjurer practicing new techniques on keeping a scamp summoned longer, to the enchantress enchanting scrolls or new armor for wayward travellers. But soon the Teleportation pad glowed and an elder Dunmer stepped down and walked to the door. Skink watched the raggy old man make his way. His appearal was disguting. He wore an old brown and tattered robe that held many grey patches. His hair was messy as if the man took his hood off before using the Mages traveling network. "Have a pleasent stay in Sadrith mora, unless you bump into any telvanni snobs." Skink said as he braught his eyes back to his book. Soon calmness came back after the door slammedshut behind the old traveler.
The Elder dunmer made no time at all leaving the fort and entering the small tavern outside across the bridge. He looked at the tavern and rubbed his chin. His hood was back up, shrouding his face, wanted to keep secretive about his work. After spitting to the ground he dropped his hand then made entry into the tavern. Voices died down and whispers came from all over. The man looked around at the patrons then walked his way slowly to the top floor. He passed by a tall standing Altmer making no sign of noticing. He made a halt in his movement and took a seat on a stool. He felt all the eyes that were starign him down. He heard the whispers but he did not care. There lives were all worthless anyways. Soon a bosmer walked up to him, but the elderly Dunmer didn't move to acknowledge his presence. "Welcome to Sadrith Mora traveller! What can I do for you today?" The dunmer slowly turned his head, but his head shadowed his face, but his mouth was quite visible. He smirked and started to form some signal with his hands.
The bosmer looked at him though, but then after the dunmer came apon a known sign he smiled. He reached his hand into a small box behind the counter and leaned closer to the man then whispered. "You'll find them outside of Sadrith Mora, in a cave on the eastern shore."..
~I had awakened to the sound of my apprentice practicing spells. My eyes were already open, something I had mastered from my childhood. I blinked twice and stood from my chair and stretched my arms outward. The sound of explosions filled the room from the tunnel on the floor. I stepped forward and made my way back down Vastiens room infront of me. Lights of different colors appeared one after another, yellow, red, blue, and a violet. I gave a slight chuckle and a smile. I had moved closer to the room, about five inches from the circular entry way. I held my hands behind my back watching Vastien cast perculiar spells. It was as if he was trying to master the art of casting! But he had already done so. His form was like a dance, weaving his hands around with ease. Making soem circular motions then spreading them, bringing them together then weaving them again. I stepped to the floor and leaned against the wall now crossing me arms at my chest. "You know magicka has its mysteries." I said and he turned his head, pausing himself in the middle of a cast. Halting what ever spell he thought of. "And its mysteries are only known to thoughs who have seen or felt its endless stream of existince."
"Im sorry, I didn't mean to make such a rouse." Vastien finally put himself together and bowed.
"No, there is nothing to be sorry for. This dunmer is a sound sleeper. Unless I have a reason to be aware of my suroundings."
"You were asleep? Your eyes-"
"Yes a perculiar thing isn't it?" I gave a chuckle then continued. "I've done that since I was a child. Also gotten beatings from my father because they thought I was awake. huh, Scared my mother a bit too." I gave a nod then chuckled. Vastien joined then silence came apon us.
"How is Rethian?" Vastien asked. I shot a confusing gaze mixed with interest and annoyance.
"The boy tries and almost kills you, and you seek for him to be well?" I looked at him then smiled. "He is fine, the high wizard gave him a proper punishment." Vastien gave a nod then sighed. I saw he was worried about the young Rethian. He was a thoughtfull young man. Very different from the rest of the young telvanni. Maybe this is why I chose him? Or was it just because I saw him to be just a reflection of myself? It is very complicated. We stood there in the silence but then my memory struck me. "Oh my, We are late!" I said and then rushed out of the room, Vastien being quick and following after.
"Late for what?" He asked loudly as we went down to the mid level of the tower and then down to the room we entered my tower from.
"I have an excevation that needs attending too."
"Excevation?"
"Yes of Nchlengfth in the grazelands. It was founded by some other young Apprentice. My mouth gave him the job, I sen't some of my ex-slaves there to dig and explore for me."
"So you have to see to the work?"
We had reached my private study. Not even my closest friends know of the place. I grabbed my bag and then held out my hand and my staff came to my hand. Vastien looked at me for an answer, but I waved my hand and we both stepped on the teleportation pad. Again light swirled around us to soon make a wall. Then it faded and we were in the middle of silence. The room was dark, the lights thats illumintated from the Dwemer pipe lamps were faded. Not a very uncommon thing in Dwemer ruins, but there was something in the air. I could smell it, feel it even. My eyes widened and then my lips curled. Vastien looked around and then shruged his shoulders. "Something is wrong here." I turned my head slightly in each direction. There was no one. No sound of breathing or working. Or even pvssyr, or a greating for me. I began walking, all the doors were opened. We came apon a long hallway that looked like a residance hall. In each open room was a bed and some desks, and on the floors of each room I noticed hand tools of my servants, my friends. Soon the stale smell became heavy in the air. It forced Vastien to cover his nose and mouth. I made no such attempt.
We soon came to the end of the hallway, I turned my head to the right room and there on the floor was a diary. I rushed to it leaving my staff standing and then picking up the book. It wasn't an ancient conscript. No dust fell from it. I opened the cover to see a name that made sarrow fall through me. It was Savian Cal' journal. One of my loyal servants. The very first Slave I baught then removed the bracers from. I hastily flipped through the pages untill I came to the last two pages. They were freshly written, the ink still hadn't fully dried.
Midas 3E425- Frostfall ~page 1 of 2~
We've been here for almost two weeks, Sparda is very pleased with the artifacts we have found. Today we have discovered a new section to these ruins, it was blocked off by pipes and rubble from the ceiling. Glad thing we have an ex-mage argonian here to blast it to Oblivion.... wow, that was a loud sound, Hides-In-Trees, just let a large fireball loose and the rubble went loose and rolled out revealing the hallway. seems that section has no light what so ever, like the power source for the wall lamps went out or something. Oh that reminds me, for this past week we've lost two men. That new guy, Imperial I believe, and Rhashaak the Khajiit. Rha we found under some pipes, poor cat. Jhuelian Thinks he was stabbed to death by soemone, but it was hard to tell with how the pipes were on him. That imperial has been missing almost exactly the same time as rha died it seems, we can't find him anywhere. Now when I look into that new hallway I feel like there's someone else here, watching us. I don't know if the death of Rha and the dissapearence of the new guy has gotten me on edge or i'm just paranoid, I'll say this much though, Im keeping this dagger close just in case.... Bah, Gharthiir the altmer is calling, something about Ranei hurt badly... I sware that women can worry me sometimes, havent been together for more then three months and she's already getting hurt...
Date it smeared but it is clearly the next day or the day before Sparda is standing in the ruins presently ~page 2 of 2~
((Most of the page has blood scattered and smearing over the first few lines but the bottom paragraph is legible)) Oh god.... All of them dead.... Assassins I believe, In black armor and the New guy. He's one of them! Right now Im locked in a room in the residential area of the ruins.... We were in the new area, first Centurions and now assassins... oh no.... theres one of those big machines outside the door trying to get in... Damn those fetchers, My poor Ranei. ((Ink is smeared for the last sentence
))
~~~

The last words of my dear friend were indeed frightening. And assassins? Why would assassins be coming here for I wondered. Vastien had entered slowly. I handed him the diary and looked to The Dunmer corpse on the floor. His silver dagger stuck out, stabbed into his spine. This was not the only injury though, but many cuts and nicks were visible on his arms and the sides of his stomach. He put up some fight atleast. I looked around the room to find some sign, but nothing but dusty metal walls, and ash filled foor. I shook my head and stood tall. "Im sorry Sparda, I'm sure they were good friends." Vastien said behind me when he finished reading. I made a sighe slowly closing my eyes and bringing my left hand to my forehead. But a slight chill, maybe instinct or the sense of another around us, braught me back to alertness. I shot my gaze to the door, as my eyes reached the doorway, a foot was seen carrying its body passed, down the hallway. It was a quick thing, and silent, They were still here in the ruins. But there was something else here. sparda had felt this same thing before, around other Psyches such as himself. It was a common thing with Psuches. when they were near eachother, at first unaware, they soon could feel the others presence.

I slowly walked towards the door, vastien had cast a sheild spell on himself. He knew something was wrong by my movements. I raised my hand to keep him at position. "I fear this is some kind of trap." I said through thoughts. I twitched my eyes to the side to see vastien nodding. He had recieved my message. I took another step forward but an arrow had whistled passed my nose hitting the iron door. I could identify the arrow intime, It had explosive magicka. As it cracked in a large boom after hitting the door I already had my protection made. I held my hand up as if pushing the fire away. soon its energy went through me. Now the quickening footsteps of a charge could be heard. I backed away from the doorway and tapped my staff on the ground. It dissapeared in a bright silver light and was replaced with a silver Longblade, made my own. Its blade was embedded with many runes and was sharp. soon the assassin appeared, equiped with a single dagger. he dove it in for my belly, but I countered with and side swiping parry, it wasn't much for skill, but it made him back away for a moment. He came back in with slashes but I backed away and soon Held his dagger with my sword. soon my left hand lit up with silver stripes spitting out, electricity shot itself at the attacker stiffening him up and falling him limply to the floor.

"Lets go!" I yelled out, I ment not to leave though. I wanted to find the source to the power I sensed, I knew more battles would come along the way but they would be minor obsticels. Vastien followed me out and down the new hallway that the team of excevators blasted open. we ran down the hallway then turned to the right over a grating then up stairs and then into an open round room. I came to a halt in my running vastien now by my side. The room was like an observation room, to look into the heavens, But I made no heed to the glorious find, three more assassins came in behind us. they held their blades and their position though.

((I'll finish the rest later gotta get packing done and some sleep before plane ride.))
