From what I've seen and heard, arrows will take longer to fire off, but will deal more damage. This will be good, especially while sneaking. I found it funny that it took 50 arrows and standing on a house in the waterfront district to kill a guard for his armor.

Actually, from what we've heard from the people lucky enough to see the demo, Archery is pretty much identical to OB's, except you get 1 shot kills.

I'd definitely disagree with that, considering that you have to stand still to have any sort of accuracy in Skyrim and thus cannot backpedal/kite enemies, it takes longer to draw your bow, arrows are not as numerous and you can't equip as many at once, and, of course, arrows do much more damage, so you no longer pelt your foe with dozens of them until they run up to you and you have to rely on either melee or magic to deal the killing blow.

Newsflash, Bethesda didn't invent Fallout. While F3 may have have felt a bit like "Oblivion with guns" Bethesda did make a pretty good effort to relate it to Fallout 1 & 2 as much as possible.

Locational damage was straight out of Fallout 1 & 2... though they didn't let you shoot people in the eyes and crotch like Fallout 1 and 2 did, I miss shooting raiders in the crotch with my P94 plasma rifle :(

What Im saying is, just because something was in Fallout 3, doesn't mean that will really increase it's chance of being in TES. That said, I think there will be locational damage, since I think Bethesda is trying harder to make the action-oriented parts of TES more fun. Locational damage was a feature in fallout 1 & 2, so Bethesda did it for # 3 as well.

Right and because they made it for fallout 3 chances are higher that it will be featured in future things they develop like Skyrim. I mean they have a model for it so why wouldn't they use it, the only thing that's likely to be different is the tone with wich it's used. So we're probably not going to see heads exploding or anything like that, amputations and decapitations could happen.

Limited arrows? they HAVE allready screwed it up. Its like that in Morrowind. Bolts are realy hard to find for sale, so I never use my crossbow. I run out of ammo and cant find any more.

I used my bow as a secondary in Oblivion. Alone it was just far inferior to a sword. Hopefully Skyrim changes that.

Archery was pretty good imo. Get a sneak bow attack from afar then if it doesn't one hit them then go in and spam em with a shortsword... that's what I did.

So because you had trouble finding bolts in Morrowind means that you won't find any arrows in Skyrim?

Not only should merchants and blacksmiths have arrows for sale, you might be able to make your own arrows for all we know.
Collecting arrows off the body of an enemy will also be a lot more viable. Perhaps the smithing skill can even be used to repair broken arrows.

Archery is something I pretty much ignored in Oblivion because it was so hard to bring down an attacker with it at lower levels that I never got it high enough to see how much damage it might do. In my current game, I've been working very hard to get better at it before Skyrim is released and along with poisons and enchantments, it's been better...although backpedaling from a Minotaur that just keeps coming at me is frustrating...especially since we won't be able to backpedal like that in Skyrim. I think it was mentioned that archery would be better in Skyrim though and it's a skill I want to improve.

I hope for all our sakes they fix the speed of the arrow and the drop in the arrow trajectory. Its like the bows had a 10 pound draw.maybe for realism sake have them less accurate as a novice with more drop.and more accurate with less drop as you get closer to master archer.

Yeah that's why though, i didn't like how you had to put 20 arrows into something to kill it (not usually but sometimes). So this will make it a lot more realistic and fun. haha

I really got into the sniper role in OB, loved how archery, alchemy and sneak attacks complimented eachother. Like what I'm hearing about Skyrim's archery so far too. It should be all about setting up for that perfect shot, stealth and precision as opposed to speed. I should be able to drop a target in one hit if I've prepared adequately.
