Post » Sat May 28, 2011 12:13 pm

Hi. I'm proud to announce the release of my project "Archipel de Pertevue". Sorry for my poor english because it's a french mod. You can discover it here, on the famous morrowind french site Wiwiland.
http://morromods.wiwiland.net/spip.php?article1024

Let's make a little description :

- an archipelago as big as Solstheim.
- 2 big cities (Lindyl and Quiteterre)
- 5 villages
- 1 colony : the player could manage the construction
- a new unique race : the Wyrmers
- hundreds of new textures
- hundreds of new objects
- hundreds of new npcs
- new animations
- new creatures
- dozens and dozens of new quests
- hundreds pages of dialogues
- dozens new books
- many other things...

The mod is 190Mo compressed and 380Mo uncompressed.
It is Morrowind recquired only.

Some screenshots and videos are better than words :

For the moment, this mod is only available in french. But, maybe, some people here can watch and play to it. Don't hesitate to tell me what you think of this mod. Thank you very much.

[edit]
According to some players, the mod is 100% compatible with the VO version. So you can explore it ! Only the new dialogs or objects will be in french.

Nice!

You wouldn't mind making some resources out of your work? There's always a need for that! :)

Looks beautiful and intriguing. Is there a chance we can get your promise to let us know when there's an English translation? I don't know French, but I'd love to try it out one day.

:ahhh: :ahhh: :ahhh: OraNN, you made it! How long had you and your team been working on it? Congratulations! :trophy:
Seriously, I remember this mod being a wip for so long and I saw so many awesome screenshots and videos from it over the years that it is fantastic to see it released. I almost can't believe it. Will you be moving onto new mod projects or will you be taking a break now? Again, congratulations!! :celebration:

ps: I uncompressed the bsa archive to browse the meshes and textures. So many amazing works of art in there! (and what a blast from the past to see the armors I made so long ago :o)

Thanks a lot.

@Mandamus : I'm very happy to read you here ! For the moment, I don't have any other project, but I will continue to improve Pertevue and to achieve actes 2 and 3. Some factions are not finished yet so, if I wish, I have a lot of work on it !

@Papill6n : You are not the first saying to me that the mod is compatible with VO version. Thanks for the confirmation. I will edit my first post here to add it.

@wollibeebee : The center of Pertevue is around -110, 110., so very far away. I don't know any mod as far as mine. ^^

OraNN: Yeah that sounds like a lot of work! I just checked the videos one more time, they really are very impressive, I wish I had the time to play through the mod. I love that video of a ship exploding:
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2g0ol_pertevue-explosion-navire_videogames
I also like this one with a building being burned to the ground:
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6e3cd_incendie-d-un-entrepot-a-lindyl_videogames
And that one is cool as well:
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x9rr6i_citadelle-de-douleur-les-meandres_videogames
I can't imagine how much time was put in animating all this stuff!

cool! gonna check it out tommorrow.

French, and translating it would probably be a massive undertaking, if there is as much dialog as implied in the first post. I'm not sure a translation is being planned either?

If something like that is done, it shouldn't be too hard to turn it in a proper English version.

Again, thank you very much for your encouragements.

For a google translation, I'm afraid about the imprecision. It's some hundreds pages of text.

I think that Pertevue would need a close traduction, which would take a long time. For the moment (and I'm sorry about that), I don't have enouth time.

However, if someone is ready to do it, contact me !

Played around with this a bit.

Seems like a lot of work went into this. Went to Ebonheart, had to adjust the level limitation (getting a character to level 16 is almost impossible with my GCD settings). Paid 5000 gold for the trip (another setting, should be much cheaper for everyone else). A warning to NOM users: The trip took 5 ingame days for me. My poor wood elf nearly died of thirst standing on the docks after arriving. Everything looks like it took a lot of work. The city you start in is huge. All kinds of animations play in the interiors. People standing and reading, sitting at tables, playing instruments in the inn. Even a couple snoozing in bed together. I had noticeable lag in interiors though. Seems like every second or third second I would have a noticeable jolt of lag. Maybe some script which manages NPC placement or something running constantly. Seems rather dialogue heavy. Unfortunately, French is more my sister's forte than mine, so I can't appreciate the amount of work that I'm sure went into it. I'm sure some translation will come along eventually. It would be a shame if such fine workmanship couldn't be shared with the whole of the Morrowind community.

Thanks Mytch for your feedback ! I really appreciate, even the criticism ! In the french site Wiwiland, there is a pack of savegames with level 16 characters. But I think they must be played on a french version...

About the lag, it's a problem I tried to solve since the beginning of the development. You're right : there are many scripts running to manage the npcs timetable and they cause some lag.

You seem to play a RP character. I don't know well the VO mods you use. In my party with the default settings, the trip is cheaper.

Thanks again !

Christ the animations in this mod are amazing, im really liking the npc ones you should consider releasing them in a separate mod like animated morrowind mod im collecting as many anims as possible the ones in here would go great with the ones available not to mention the amount of them. the burning building and constructions are the coolest idea to get morrowind to feel alive. blowing up the row boat is prity awesome because of this i one day want to have everything destroyable in morrowind so you can play a relay evil character. i certainly recommend this to anyone despite the language issue

little off topic are there any other mods on Wiwiland that have any form of anims that you apply to npcs, i cant get the google translator to work on my machine and i dont want to have to download everything just to find out?
