Arcwind Point or stuck with the Greybeards forever?

Post » Tue Jul 08, 2014 4:52 am

I got the quest "A word of power" in Arcwind Point earlier and was able to finish it by visiting Northwind Summit.

Now I get the quest again and since I already visited both locations there is no way to finish it.

Checking for a solution i found the console commands:

  • "SetStage FreeFormHighHrothgarA 20"
  • "SetLocationCleared fd685"

The 1st gives me:

Compiled script not saved!
SetStage FreeFormHighHrothgarA 20
Item 'FreeFormHighHrothgarA' not found in parameter Quest.

also the 2nd even while not giving me an error message doesn′t solve the issue.

I tried both commands before and also after accepting the quest, with the same results.

Also coming back to Arngeir after different times does not gives me other locations for the quest.

Am I stuck now with the Greybeards and have no other choice then killing Paarthurnax and join the blades?

hmmm the commands that are in the debug section on the UESP have worked for me in the past, but I had to type them very carefully (always messed up the long word). If that doesn't work for you then try finding a different word wall, this will sometimes clear the quest, but not always. And of course just for safety sake make sure when you type the commands you do NOT use the quotes.

Hope that helps.

Cheers!

P.S. Just tried the command: setstage freeformhighhrothgara 20 and it worked without error, so maybe you just had a typo.

If you have to use console commands, it is best to not use the 'completequest' command; it is well known to cause buggy behavior and possibly other undesirable things to happen in the game. Using the 'setstage' command is less likely to cause issues and as a general rule is considered to be cleaner.

The 'setstage freeformhighhrothgara 20' command should fix this problem. As a previous poster mentioned, you may have accidentally typed it incorrectly.
