Well... all Imperials are pretty "Imperial" looking...
it really depends on your defenition of Redguard
would an "Imperial" who lived in Yokuda and somehow became part of the Ra'Gada be a Redguard, or do you define "Redguard" as a specific genetic subset of humanity

But if through our genetics and tamriel's breeding system...
if a breton/imperial man impregnates a redguard woman, the child would be a redguard because of her mother, but maybe of a slightly different shade.

Right? Thank god for Gregor Mendel.

the way i see it, all but the beast races (orcs, argonians, khajiit) and elves (aldmer, bosmer, dunmer) are just different colors of the same genetics basically. asking "are all redguards black" is like asking "are all white people white?" or "are all black people black?"

its just different colors really.

But this is a fantasy world, and genetics aren't going to behave or work the same way. Notes on Racial Phylogeny already indicates that inheritance of features doesn't operate the same way as it does on Earth.

On Nirn, the "races" really do seem to be just that - at least, from gameplay mechanics. Different races have different starting attributes and different racial abilities. In-game lore presents the inhabitants of Nirn as falling within strict racial classifications - there are no 'half bosmer' or 'half orcs.'

As for Redguards, aren't they, lorewise, supposed to be of reddish hue (hence their name Ra'Gada)?

Redguards are human right? Human offspring when coming from mixed races don't take on the characteristics of one parent mainly, but a roughly equal mix from both parents.

yeah, though it seemed as though it took till Oblivion for them to have that reddish hue.

TES =/= Real life. Offspring of two different races are the race of their mother, and just barely and noticeably take on the traits of the father. So the coupling of a female redguard and a breton will produce a redguard child that will be pretty much all redguard, with extremely minior breton traits that are not noticeable unless repeated for centuries with the same coupling.
