I just completed "The Break of Dawn" and I'm starting to wonder if all the Deadra are really all that bad. I mean Meridia seems to only want the undead to be destroyed... that's good right? and Azura is the Daedra of dawn and dusk, I mean we get sunsets and sunrises at that time...

lol but in all honesty, I think the term "deadra" is more of a... grey area, a catch all term. we assume they are evil because the divines are good yet it seems that some of the deadra are good. Now I get that some some are bad like Molag Bal... but not all are

Daedra aren't all evil, it's even said in the lore.

That they're all evil is a generalization. Most are evil, but not all. Azura, for example, is not evil. She cares deeply for her followers and does not engage in wanton mayhem.

Meridia is worse than she comes across in Skyrim. UESP Umaril.

But no.. they're neither good nor bad.. they're just egotistical and selfish naturally. They can help mortals or hinder them.

Some are kind of neutral but I wouldn't call any of them good. Meridia makes it pretty clear that the very idea of undead irritates her and its more of a personal vendetta than concern for tamriel. At best humanity/elvenkinds needs sometimes align with the goals of a few deadra but look at what happened to morrowind and you will see how even a supposedly good deadra like azura acts if angry. (lots of collateral damage)

Meridia laid waste to an Ayleid city once, because they pissed her off for one reason or another.
