Are any of you guy's worried you'll finish skyrim within the

Post » Thu Sep 29, 2011 7:38 pm

I know that Skyrim is HUGE, and that it has 20+ hours of main story playing time and apparently over 300 hours of side quests, exploring etc..... But I worried that Skyrim will be so hard to put down because it is so good that I or many of you will finish it within the first week or two? (I am talking about the first play through of Skyrim)

I know that you can start another save as a mage, thief etc.. But I would at least want the first playthrough to take a bit longer than two weeks.

What do you guy's think??

Not one bit because just like I did in Oblivion I'll do in Skyrim- as soon as I have control over my character it's time to go do whatever and go wherever I want and get around to the story later

Main quest is actually 30+ I heard. I don't think I'll finish it in the first week either. In fact I don't think I'll even finish the main quest in the first week, simply because the side quests will be so damn distracting. . . screw that, EVERYTHING will be distracting. :ahhh:

I really doubt anyone could play for 300 hours almost flat out, even getting a few hours of sleep a day. But don't worry, you won't complete it in a week. Lol

Welcome to the forums btw. ;)

Um, no. I won't be able to get in more than 2 hours non-stop, so Skyrim will probably last me a full year.

If you've a lot of free time to play then I suggest roleplaying and finishing quests slower. If you just play the game as a game, and fast travel everywhere so you can finish quests as fast as you can then the game isn't going to last long.

I'm going to roleplay. Also I'm getting the PC version as mods add almost infinite replay value to the game.

A week of play will barely scratch the surface of Skyrim.

You can finish Skyrim...?

I know you mean the main quest. Personally, I'm not in the least bit worried. I don't think I'll do much of the main quest in my first week, I'll be too busy journeying from city to city and finding random quests and dungeons to complete.

You could probably beat the MQ in a week, but the entirety of the game with all areas explored, beaten, and exhasted? Highly unlikely. Who plays a TES game for the MQ anyway, the whole fun of it is exploration. :tops:

I'm gonna be playing far too often, hours each day, and yet I can assure you that my first character will last a minimum of 3 months. ;)

Just because its Skyrim, doesn't mean its somehow going to drastically alter my life. I will still only have the same amount of free time. As for how much of the game will be accomplished within that time really is going to depend on the game itself. I was pretty much done with Oblivion in six weeks time. Did I find everything? Nope. However, I couldn't take some of the games major flaws any longer.

Now six weeks of playtime is pretty good compared to a lot of games out there, but for an elder scrolls game, that was a pretty short game.

An Elder Scrolls game is like fine wine: it's best to savor them. You don't gulp expensive wine down like a wino. I still haven't taken my characters to Shivering Isles yet in Oblivion. I will not have finished Skyrim yet when TES VI comes out, in 2016.

Assuming you did not take breaks to eat, sleep, or do anything else it would take you roughly twelve and a half days to finish three-hundred hours worth of content. And that doesn't even include creating your character, exploring, reading books, and just screwing around in general.

So, no. Not only is is physically and theoretically impossible to "finish" Skyrim in the first week, I highly doubt you will. If you are anything like me you will be playing Skyrim for many years to come. Hell, just a few weeks ago I discovered something new in Oblivion and I was 100% certain I had done everything there was to do multiple times over.
