Are Balistic weaves locked?

Post » Sun Dec 06, 2015 5:34 pm

So I beat the game and sided with the brotherhood. Just found out about balistic weave mod's for clothes, but it looks like the only way you can really unlock them is from doing Railroad quests.... I'm not really into doing another play through for the mods... yet. So I guess my question is am I screwed, or is there another way to unlock them?

Yes, you cannot get ballistic weave on that character now, I suppose it is punishment for committing genocide

For unlocking type in console set RailroadClothingArmorModAvailable to 1

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Ballistic_weave

You can get it without actually joining the RR if you have a save from before completion.

You do kinda have to join em to get it without console commands however you only need to do a couple of quests so you are not locked into RR faction if you just want to get balistic weave.

I think it's dumb that Proctor Teagan can't teach you to make this, given that by their own admission, the RR doesn't have much tech and what little they have isn't actually that good.

Not exactly balistic weawe is a tech you recover for RR by a quest given from PAM(its secret prewar tech basicly as far as i understand it) and while BOS does have some knowlidge of prewar tech it is still very limited, if any faction wud have at least semi reasonable lore correct reason for having balistic weave from start that wud be Institute not BOS.(and even for them there is absolutly no real reason to have the tech)

This is pre-war tech hidden inside DIA cashes and the DIA was more advanced and secretive than the other branches of government according to PAM so that's why you can only get it with the railroad, because the DIA was more advanced than the BoS and Institute, not because the railroad is

Oh. I never completed that quest chain. That explains why I never got it. I thought I was wasting my time. "oh boy a hidden closet with another tux"

but the Brotherhood inherits P.A.M. so there really is no reason that they couldn't learn it too. it's basically a requirement to use the neat armors like kellogg's late game.

Eh. I can't stand how beth railroaded the plot for them to be the penultimate good guys. I'll just console code to get it on every character and always murder them upon meeting them.

I like the first quest with deacon when he says "their were like 200 synths and he just killed them all single handed carrying me on his shoulders the entire way" and that James Bond pistol looks amazing

I don't know why the BoS didn't get some exclusive PA upgrades, although I suppose they do give you a partial set of legendary T-60. But still, you can get that through RNG in time.

The sacrifices we make for doing what's right I guess.

I'll stick with console commands so I don't have to liberate toasters
