Not too long ago - games on console - cartdridges - had to be released. Imagined if your Game on the cartdridge would crash on level 2? What would the company do, ship you several cartdridges everytime they patch something?
No, the release had to be tested in and out - flawless.
Nowadays, if something's wrong, companies can patch directly through internet. That means if they DO screw up - they can fix it. Good for them.
Internet also provided them with something else - something close to NO OTHER MARKET HAS. And that is us.
Us, being a loving, caring customer base. We buy the product but, we don't stop there. Unless most product or software - we want to perfect it. Some titles are still played after more than ten years because people modded it, changed it, played with it inside out.
We will answer their questions, Some will even pay or do stunts to beta test their products.
AND WITH ALL THIS - Stuff that the same industry didn't have before - with less help on our part and no second chance to patch - releases were better before (or safer) before.
That's something to fuel anger right there. At least for me it is.
This is by no mean aimed at a specific company.
