I was wondering about this too, texture size doesn't have much of a framerate impact, the the vanilla textures are screaming for an HD version, all the detail work is just totally smudgy and unclear...

It would make the game graphically look so much better.

I do not think any are needed.

[edit]

If they do add it I just consider it a bonus. I preferred the Official Skyrim HD pack to any of the mods since the mods were all over the place in quality and I noticed more on the graphics which took away from getting lost in the game world. Those mods did look quite good but as whole it just did not fit for me.

There are HD textures on Nexus. There will be more. I think it's better if they work on other things.

I'd make this a poll. Then you can get some numbers in regard to demand, and keep the thread active to rally support so that Bethesda know we want this.

EDIT: I agree about wanting official HD textures rather than fan textures. After all, Bethesda have all the official assets already. As to "it's better if they work on other things," we already know that their bug-fixing will be limited (and that the community will do a very thorough job of it - it's unfortunate, but that's just the way it has been and will probably always be), and we already know that Bethesda will work on DLC, so there's no reason not to ask for higher resolution official textures since they established a precedent with Skyrim.

Not HD enough apparently :)

Some textures are still pretty blurry and not too detailed when you get close.

PC HD not Ps4

Yes some things are shockingly blurry. Other threads spawned on this as well

I hope so, the textures really need to be nicer on the PC. We can take it.

Nice to have choice. I would not use them, blurred are more aesthetically pleasing for me then oversharpened ones. I never get close enough to anything for it to matter, never understood the need for HD. I would prefer more detailed models and more model types over better textures. It is better for immersion if a car has all the geometry it should have, than to be a block with 8000x8000 texture :)

I like how people think a texture pack makes a game look new. The lighting effects etc which this game has plenty of really make the difference and that's why F4 looks great. We've put HD skins on games like Thief before and it still makes the game look crap. Textures aren't everything.

I would argue that HD textures made F3 and NV look even more crap than before. Specially those fan made were terrible, no one bothered to make them fit each other with contrast etc. HD textures in Fallout enigne is like putting 1 million dollar dress on ugly girl... Still ugly :)
