Are Bosmer the descendants of the Ayleids (Wild Elves)

It is my belief that the Elven Armor is actually Ayleid Armor and like Dwarven armor is found in Dwarven ruins of Hammerfell & Morrowind, elven armor was / is found in the many Ayleid ruins across Cyrodiil.

This can be confirmed in my eyes by the Ayleid pieces of armor we find in certain quests as they look identical.

What happened to them. According to TES lore many were exiled to Valenwood.

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Ayleids

"Ayleids, also known as the Ancient Ones, Wild Elves, or Heartland High Elves, were the first race to establish an empire in Tamriel. They were the original founders of the Imperial City, although it was a fortress called White Gold Tower in those days. They spoke a language now referred to as "Ayleidoon", a derivative of Aldmeris which was once the language of the human Cyrodils as well. Much like the lost Dwemer (whose ruins can be found in Hammerfell and Morrowind), many Ayleid ruins can be found in Cyrodiil."

"Ayleid culture lingered in the city-states that survived as client kingdoms of Alessian Cyrodiil, but the Elven population was finally driven into exile (largely to Valenwood)[7] by the intolerance of the Alessian Order."

Is it possible if not obvious that the smaller evolved Bosmer of Valenwood are in fact the descendants of the Ayleids (Wild Elves) seeking refuge in the forests of Valenwood?

No, bosmer came from the aldmer, like most mer. The only difference is that they "took Mannish wives" or something. This is the only thing known

"Auriel pleaded with Anu to take them back, but he had already filled their places with something else. But his soul was gentler and granted Auriel his Bow and Shield, so that he might save the Aldmer from the hordes of Men. Some had already fallen, like the Chimer, who listened to tainted et'Ada, and others, like the Bosmer, had soiled Time's line by taking Mannish wives.

The Aleyids were just altmer that moved to Tamriel.

I think it was somewhere that the fleeing Ayleids who ran away from Pelinal's attempted genocide may have intermingled, but not to the point of creating much of a distinct culture beyond the likes of the Camoran Usurper and his son Mankar. Bosmer are distinct from Ayleids but may, I say MAY, think of potential Ayleidic ancestry like Imperials think of nobles with "fine Akaviri features," as a way to pick up chicks.

Bosmer started off as their own race (created by Yffre as an answer to Azura's Khajiit, iirc), but have since intermingled with Aylieds, men, and likely Altmer as well. They're lovable mongrels.
