Are Dragons being overshown?

Post » Tue May 03, 2011 12:48 am

Hello and welcome to another topic made by me!

So anyway, we all keep hearing about the dragons. But does anyone else get the feeling that the whole thing about dragons is being overshown too much? I get that they are a major part of the story, but I for example would like to hear more about this whole civil war mess.

I think they have put so much time and effort into dragons they are very excited about them and want to show them as much as possible.

Don't really agree with either option in the poll. I would like to hear about any new info including civil war and dragons. I'm sure when they have exhausted the dragon information, which is the main focus of the game, they will move onto other things.

Personally I enjoy that they're talking about the Dragons, because it's not giving away large amounts of the story away like they did with Oblivion it seemed.

The less I know about the story prior to getting my hands on it, the better.

Also, Dragons are awesome. This is irrefutable.

Yes.

Pretty much every preview has been dragons and the combat system, and the stupid draugr cave!

I'm kidding, sort of. I'm not too worried, Iknow they have to do it slowly.

The civil war is probably more in the background and doesn't influence the main story in the same way as the dragons.

Ehhhh somewhat. I particularly aren't especially that interested in the dragons anymore because it seems they've pretty much told us what we need to hear about them. I'd much rather see info on the world and gameplay aspect rather than an overload of dragons. Though I do see their reasoning in how they are presenting all of this; they developed dragons and are psyched to show them off to us and I don't blame them.

I wouldn't want too many plot details given away. I do however think the civil war is the most interesting aspect of the setting, and I hope it has a large influence on the game.

Yes, probably. I don't mind that either, as long as they don't fill too much in the game.

This. If I worked at Bethesda I'd probably want to hype them too.

But yes, I want to see more on the civil war. We get it, you kill dragons. More storyline please. :P

Yes the Dragons are being spammed much in the same way RAI was, but they must be extraordinarily confident about the Dragons.

even though they are apart of the story, Im more concerned about Skyrim itself, oh and why Dragons are around at the beginning of the game, someone did something prior to the beginning of Skyrim.

What do you think the theme of the game is...

The Civil War is plot, so I don't want them to give away too much. The Dragons are gameplay elements.

Not only did they work very hard on them and are very proud of how they turned out, but it seems to me that dragons are the main selling point of the game as far as they're concerned, like the Joker was for "The Dark Knight". Also, I'm sure they're aware that many of us want to see other things, but again, dragons = selling point to them... in my humble opinion. But obviously, they will talk about other things and have been to a small degree.

Yes. I'm frankly about as bored of Skyrim's dragons as I am with Dragonborn1's stupid posts.

*edit: well I'm bored of hearing about them. I'm sure they'll be awesome to watch. I'm just sick of Todd apparently making a big show of them behind closed doors.

I feel the same, dragons are all good and fun, but I'm much more interested in the lore and people than the big bad wolf of this installment never did enjoy the hole "OMFG ITS MEH HERO!!!!!' thing.
