Are dragons going to become a chore?

Speculation, dude. Shall we just get rid of the forums since all discussion is pointless if we haven't played the game?

No but you're claiming dragon fights happen constantly when you really have no idea. Sure, a magazine said they were common but there's a good chance that because it's in fact random encounters, you could have 3 in an hour or one in four hours. Who knows?

the trailer seems very apparent that the only way to kill dragons is with a dragon shout.

Sooo...how do you kill your first dragon to learn your first shout, then?

I think there's a bit of a difference between dragons and cliff racers, lol. Hopefully dragons will fight each other if the player finds two of them and hides. That would be interesting. And mirglof, I believe in the podcast it was mentioned you can run into multiple dragons.

at the same time tho? *shrugs* I never said that my opinion was THE only possibility.

again, I never said my opinion was the only possibility. read my posts, I say its a looming feeling. thats hardly me declaring I know how the game is going to be. I just have a sinking feeling that there will be some sort of process to killing dragons. and in truth that isn't terrible (it makes fights with dragons seperate from regular fights) but if it is so it eleminates several role play ideas I have.

Well, we can only wait and see if dragons are going to become a chore or not. Oblivion gates did become a bit tedious at times (especially if you did ten in a row). However, I remain hopeful since the OBs were essentially a dungeon crawl with generic enemies whereas the dragons are apparently going to be boss fights. If the dragons have enough variety in their tactics it could be interesting.

I hope they handle it well. No matter how epic a fight is it tends to be not so epic anymore if you do it 300 times over and over. Hmm a bit like how the alien in alien 1 was much cooler than in alien 2 who spammed them as weak minor inconveniences. :)

the same could be said of this. CS had nothing to do with this considering the trailer was based on console (360 is what is being said) gameplay and every one should know that CS is not on consoles. they could use command lines but that proves that it was scripted (considering in actual gameplay command line interface is impossible)

and BGS has no reason to lie? most obvious reason: get every one super excited. they have lied before that is known. like I said, radiant AI.

People are already excited, Bethesda almost doesn't need to get people hyped, they do that themselves. Besides, why go to such lenghts to craft a lie that's easier to see through than a plastic bag? Do you honestly believe the people working at Bethesda are that stupid?

We should have this merged with my Dragon Thread. After all i said it was a place for discussion on dragons and any questions. What do you say?

My theory is you don't.

My guess is you'll visit the Greybeards atop High Hrothgar, that is to assume you successfully manage to climb the 7,000 steps :P, and they will train you in the way of the tongues. Teaching you your first dragon shout. Which one? My guess is the one that act most like the Thu'um of Nord legends. The one that the god Shor taught mankind to use. First with King Harrald Hairy Breeks (used Thu'um), then with King Wulfharth who's thu'um was so powerful that he could not verbally swear into the office when elected by the Pact of Chieftains so scribes were used to draw up his oaths, and finally with Tiber Septim whom he visited at the battle of http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1150358-skyrim-trailer-breakdown/page__view__findpost__p__16838257 and taught him Thu'um.

The power is a invisible push of staggering power that sends foes hurtling away from you staggered by the force of your yell. Spoken in the game, your hero will intone the three words for the full shout: “Fus, Ro, Dah!” Translated into English, “Fus” means force, “Ro” means balance, and “Dah” means push.

Then you must kill the dragons that are suppose to be a regular threat to unlock the ability to learn more shouts, As defeating a dragon has you absorb the soul of the fallen creature, which "fuels" the ability to learn a new shout. Then you visit ancient walls of draconic scripture and learn more words as you collect and become more powerful with your dragonshouts.

That's my take on it anyways.
