Are dragons >REALLY< going to use shouts?

Post » Thu Aug 11, 2011 11:34 pm

Of all the dragon footage seen we only ever see generic breath moves beyond physical attacks. Now while fire/ice breath are shouts and do allow Bethesda to say "Dragons use shouts too" are they going to use varieties of shouts?

Am I going to see dragons doing Whirlwind Sprint, Slow Time, etc or simply X breath from X dragon?

I kind of hope so, it is their language after all.

I would imagine however that most will only have 1 shout since they only have 1 dragon soul - their own. I'm hoping that some tougher dragons who have killed other dragons and absorbed their souls will have more than 1 shout.

I would assume that the Dragons will use all Primal style shouts, i.e. Breath attacks, Push and the like.

there are 20+ different shouts, each with 3 different levels.

I don't think we will see that many different types of dragons, but certainly there will be more than just Frost Dragon and Fire Dragon.

Also, the Jills (Alduin's lieutenants) will probably be able to make use of multiple shouts and I suspect that Alduin will be able to use every shout in the game (except the Summon Dragon Shout).

Jills? First i've heard of them! Interesting.

But imagine Alduin using whirlwind sprint.

I was hoping to get this question answered during the fan q/a with G4 awhile ago, but they apparently deleted my freakin' question and didn't answer my other question.

Personally I imagine only quest relevant or higher level Dragons will have full blown shouts available to them. I personally hope to see Alduin have some unique shouts though.

Why wouldn't the dragons use their own language?

Alduin has a group of black dragons, known as Jills.

.....

Dovahkiin is a dragon hunter appointed by the gods to defeat Alduin and the Jills, and to protect Skyrim and Tamriel.

Remember that some dragon shouts are found on walls, and these (presumably) can't be acquired else where, so there may be some shouts dragons don't use.

As I've said before in threads of this nature...I most certainly hope they will, and that the dragons we have seen in the demos are very low level grunts so to speak.
