So Are fallout 4’s graphics a deal-breaker?

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 10:42 pm

Hi guys,

hope youre well.

Could you let me know if the graphics are so bad as some people are complain? Just wondering because I know that really bad graphics can break the immersion of the game. Seriously, I played Minecraft for 5 minutes and nothing more because those bad graphics made me feel dumb about my life time.

Please, lets talk about the immersion of the game and how good or bad the graphics are to keep us focus and immersive in the game!

In the same way we have the combat system. In this video it is told that DOOM combat system will be in Fallout 4: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFILD2NrWnA

Please, let me know your thoughts.

The guy from the store called me saying that my copy of Fallout 4 has arrived! :-)

So Are fallout 4’s graphics a deal-breaker?

Personally, I believe they're pretty good as I play on both consoles, so yeah.

Oh Kung Fury, the graphics are very good... at least for my PC that can run the game on high. They are on par with Skyrim's ENB mods in my opinion.

I was seriously amazed at how good this game looks. I really can't understand what some people are complaining about. I had seen some threads about complaints before the game was launched not sure why as no one had "seen" the game yet, only video footage that never looks good. So I was actually looking for it to be bad. But, its beautiful. For the record, I play on the PC.

One thing I would like to add is a Gamma Adjustment, it is a bit too bright, even on my calibrated monitor.

the graphics look amazing on ultra

there are some old textures here and there, but the lighting and the colours make the game look more beautiful than any other game I have seen so far

anti aliasing also looks great, smoothes all the edges and almost doesn't cost any performance

so far quite impressed with how the game looks

Absolutely not. Everything is more detailed, more "stuff" in every environment, crisper animations, better lighting...all around a huge upgrade to Fallout 3 and NV. After seeing Skryim and New Vegas on PC, playing this on console is still an upgrade. For the graphics enthusiasts, I'm sure on PC on high or better settings you're going to get a visual experience that exceeds even this.

I can understand what they're talking about, and you answered your own question: they were looking at the videos and trailers of a game, that wasn't even fully done yet.

The gamma is a bit bright for me too, I had to change some video settings on my console for the game and it fixed it for me.

I think it's damned beautiful! The only thing I don't like so much are some of the NPC faces have a weird shine in the lip area and around the eyebrows. Not a deal breaker in any sense of the word though. I have to say that the river by Sanctuary Hills looks so realistic, I almost felt the water in my boots... :)

Yes it is! The lighting is amazing. Every once in a while you'll run into a sub-par texture, but for the most part the game is beautiful. Except when you turn on the Pipboy flashlight, and then it looks pretty crappy. Something to do with the PBR lighting, I'm sure. But as long as you keep that off, it's gorgeous.

I'm going to assume you're on a pc.

Graphics look pretty good. But if you're expecting the love child between Metro and Crysis you will be disapointed. For an openworld game it looks good, and it runs good as well so you can really dial up the visuals. If you meet the recommended requirements you can pretty much hit 60fps with everything on Ultra and maxed out.

People who barely meet the minimal requirements have been saying even they can turn the graphics up quite a notch and still get good performance.

The people who complained about the graphics either care to much about graphics and fail to understand limitation of an openworld game with a ton of entities, or they're just nitpicking and looking for something to complain about. There are absolutely things that i'd say are bad, but graphics is not one of them.

The graphics are solid. Very crisp detail and amazing lighting.

My only two complaints would be the lip animation with characters when speaking and the lighting can be a bit excessive in some areas - a gamma slider would fix that

Overall, great looking game. Anyone saying previous titles look better or the same are blindly ignorant

Two things. I've been playing FO4 on my Xbox and I'm happy with the graphics. I've never really been a graphics nut so I don't see what the complaints are about.

Second, Minecraft rocks. I love that game. I have a tunnel complex and a highway system spanning across the desert lol.

I wonder how it'll stack up against GTA V. Just saying, that game sold almost 30 million units across the two Sony platforms...

Graphics are fine.

Not the best of this generation but decent.

Environment is more gorgeous than character models.

Not even a little bit.

I've played worse. A lot worse.

Edit: I, too, would like a gamma adujustment, as my ViewSonic monitor is bit too bright for my tastes.

Decent enough on Ultra PC, the lighting saves it. Almost mistake it for FO3 at times on console vids, with FPS that is far too low for those kind of gfx.

When all things considered, a properly modded Fallout New Vegas looks far better than Fallout 4.

But it took 2-3 years to get there, so...

I'm a console peasant and I think they're pretty good actually. I was expecting an all out [censored]fest but it looks really nice. I guess the character models are a little derpy (I think it's the mouths) but the actual world is really nice. Dat lighting.
