I'm not disapointed, I would like a full set of controls to ajust myself however, kinda feel that control of graphics have been taken away....But I'm not disapointed......
I am pritty dissapointed after initially seeing the renderings regarding the suits, then i saw the game graphics and lack of DX11 support. Crysis for me was a game to buy for eye candy this isnt what i personally expected from them.
This game certainly has amazing visuals, at some instances even better than the first game (oh and yes, Crysis 1 has far better visuals than this), but what we are dissapointed about is that the visuals could have progressed much much more if it was a PC exclusive.
This game on DX9 looks way better than Crysis 1 did on DX10. The lighting, particle effects, reflections, are all spectacular. It's also a plus for me since I can no longer play Crysis 1/Crysis Warhead normally because my display driver crashes all the time. Which is because they were unoptimized pieces of ****. But now on here, I get a steady 70+ FPS on extreme. That counts for something doesn't it? So consoles actually did something positive, they forced Crytek to optimize their game for once. Now when Crytek fixes MP, I will be able to fully enjoy this game for many weeks to come.
You have to admit that the lighting was fantastic in C2, that really made up for a lot of things. Sure some of the C1 textures were better, but then again, plenty in C2 outstripped C1 (namely the rear door of the VTOL actually looks defined and 3D now!). Unlike C1 I don't think it actually renders the far distance, rather taking the CoD route and having a still image with moving sprites but it doesn't look to bad because you spend most of your time surrounded by buildings anyway. Water graphics were disappointing after the awesome of C1 (used to spend ages staring glassy eyed at the water in Crysis 1) and cracking glass didn't look great. For a Dx 9 game it's face meltingly awesome, when the Dx 11 patch comes hopefully we see some improvement though.
I think it looks great, and I like how well optimized it is, it will run smooth on a machine that would struggle to display Crysis 1 on a simillar high configuration and that's a good thing, even if a few people think it's wise for a company to release a game that can only be enjoyed with a 2k PC when we are in the middle of a world "crysis". Still I think it looks more rich than the first one.
if the game wasnt called crysis then no but since it has the reputation of having the name crysis yes if/when we get the dx11 patch everyone will be happy

Game looks better on your PC because you can't run Crysis or Warhead. Derpp
Crysis 2 has a great detailed visual, but it's sometimes overloaded, so you can't see what's actually important in large areas... but I guess it's solved well with the tactical assistent and waypoints. One thing I miss is a map overview like in Crysis 1.
...can only be enjoyed with a 2k PC when we are in the middle of a world "crysis". Still I think it looks more rich than the first one. This is not true at all. You can get a gaming rig for $1200 these days. You could even get away with a decent gaming computer in the $900 range.
In another post I said I was torn between the new vs the original games. I shouldn't be though, I should unequivocally think that Crysis 2 is superior with the graphics features. The artwork is great in this game but I feel like there are a lot of things that were better in the original game(s).
I also recall in the original that DX 10 never really worked, my computer would crash to often. Then DX10.5 came out and I was able to play until I got on the ship. Thereafter it crashed so much that it became unplayable, I had to finish in DX9. I think I'm too disappointed with other aspects of the game than to dwell on the quality of the graphics at the moment. Like the lack of more openess to the maps, the missing destructible environment, some other things. I hope these bugs get fixed and that it's not a long wait for DX11. I also hope they fix the login issue with multiplayer, I'm presently unable to login at all.
Some apsects could be better, but i'm pretty content with the graphics. My problem is how they have nerfed virtually every feature in the game, weapons, weapons customization, suit controls, options, physics, etc etc.
