Are imperials good warriors? I know their good diplomats, and i was thinking about being a warrior in Skyrim, but i don't want to be a Nord, Orc or Redguard.

Even Altmer are good warriors if you put in the time and effort.

This.

Typically it doesn't matter what race you pick, you can be anything you want with any race you want. That said, I'd say Imperials are probably the best warriors after Redguards, Nords, and Orcs.

Doubly so in Skyrim, the racial differences will be more minor.

like those before me said, you can make any character be who you want. If you really want to be an all out warrior though, I would pick an Orc. The only reason I ever picked an Imperial was for the smooth talker role. Redguards and Nords are also very good warriors.

I played an Imperial warrior in OB, and had a ton of fun.

Imperials are the best 'Jack of all Trades' type characters in my opinion. Although all the Imperial characters I make are always set out to be the Warrior type eventually they just evolve into the JoaT character. That being said, most characters do eventually anyway. The only downside to the Imperial's, combat-wise, is their racial powers are pretty poor in comparison to the other 'Warrior' races.

I'm planning on creating an Imperial Warrior for Skyrim as well, although you've still got 3 and bit months to decide!

Imperials make the best knight-style warriors, Redguards the ones who favour agility and speed to aid their combat and Nords and Orcs are the more babaric warriors.

generally speaking, they have good dicipline so are better in a large-scale military engagement than, say, a duel. That doesn't mean they can't learn. TES always had that bit of charm, if you want to be a barbarian hero altmer, it's cool.

This
Rather like one on one Gauls or Germans were on average better warriors than Romans but usually lost battles against the better disciplined and led Romans
