So... Are patches coming anytime soon?

Post » Mon Jan 18, 2016 1:36 pm

Well, I wrote a clear list of bugs in the PS4 Issue section and it's just drowning within other threads.

So I guess I know where the patch is going.

About the only thing I really noticed from the first patch was how they fixed the "Take advantage of any vendor using the one ammo round" exploit. That was irritating, honestly. Like, there are so many actual issues that need to be resolved that it made fixing what is actually a harmless exploit seem petty and vindictive.

Could your setup be finicky with godrays? Fallout 4 went heavy into using them. I keep them on minimum setting. I hear they can svck performance. Any other light related things you can set lower? Maybe shadows?

Godrays are already off and Shadows stays at mid because the Game without Shadows looks horrible. Like i said everything is on low/off except shadows on mid. Object, terrain, shadows-distance and whatever are on zero. there is nothign i can do and my specs are ok for these settings.

So my PC can handle 100 moving and shooting Gen 1 Synths but cant handle an empty 2 Room Dungeon without Enemies and any Objects? Please

Yeah, I keep shadows on medium too for the same reason.

I must be the odd duck. I have played almost 400 hours so far and have had no crashes and no serious bugs or glitches.

The only glitchs I can think of is that I am unable to talk to an NPC that I need to and that was solved by saving and reloading at the same point and the inability to access my pip-boy after exiting workshop mode unless I switch from 3rd to 1st and back to 3rd view.

I'm on PS4. Maybe my expectations are just low. No FPS problems. No stuttering. No crashes. No broken quests.

Hmm...

True, but like i said in my post, just because a few of us are lucky to avoid these things doesn't mean that the patching should be slow either.

Another thing they need to patch is the chameleon special armors. Those pieces that cloak you when you crouch or stop moving? Those are clearly broken. Firstly, they don't work*, or rather, they work only some of the time. Secondly, half the time, you press the button to bring up your Pip-Boy and nothing happens. Then, when the button DOES work, the Pip-Boy is either washed out, presenting just a green screen, or is barely legible. What a mess.

*I have had raiders come around a corner, see me crouching in a corner immediately and start shooting despite the fact that I wasn't moving, or shooting at them first. I also have a very high sneak rating, which made it even more odd. When I removed the armor, things went back to normal, where I was so stealthy, raiders would actually bump into me when looking for me and then just walk around me.

True, Skyrim on PS3 had more issues than the other versions, but it's instability on the PS3 was vastly over exaggerated I think. I got the game on PS3 day 1 and played hundreds of hours across multiple character and I never had the game 'break' on me. All major questlines worked fine, crashes were rare, and aside from a few performance issues I never felt my enjoyment of the game was being seriously hampered by poor performance or bugs.

As for Fallout 4, I understand them taking their time with patches, but I do admit it'd be nice to see an update posted on what they're working on or where they're going right now. Alittle community engagement wouldn't kill em.

It would be nice to know what they consider bugs and what they consider features. What about the autolose in settlement attacks? What about having to go through all the recruiting dialogues with expert traders over and over? Bug or feature. If it's the latter, we at least know that our last hope are modders.

Anyway, is there a Reason why this Thread http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1544248-bug-report-index-pc/not become to a Sticky? Its the most important Thread in the whole Fallout 4 Forum and very well made.

Somehow I doubt that Todd Howard himself makes posts sticky here B)

Why not ping a moderator and ask her/him?

Hmmm - denying bugs or problems and not communicating would be fitting somehow - its not new for several years now.

I understand that a company selling millions of games (will be true if you only count PC, with consoles it is more than true) cannot really talk to a few thousand people on their forums.

The problem with this type of Beth game is, that the fun I have playing is somewhat diluted by the fact, that as an experienced Beth user every time something does not work in the game, I am unsure if this is a bug or malfunction, or if I did overlook something. So - I look it up in the Wiki. Not the ideal mode to play, but before I put hours into something which just does not work correctly I will go to the Wiki.

I just had this problem - an important NPC needed to open something (which is inaccessible to me), but decided to stay back and did not move. In the Wiki was the solution - its a small bug, but it goes away when you do this and that. Worked. But...

These long lists of bugs are typical for this kind of Beth game. They really push their engine to the limit and it shows.

But they also fear for their 'comfort zone'. They are used to a very friendly and cooperative fan community, who will rather defend them and fix the bugs themselves, instead of yelling loudly.

Should this list make it to the game magazines (Internet and Paper), it could be bad for them. So while they do not forbid making of such lists - which would make it to the game journals - they hope the list will die and become buried under all other posts. Also - God forbid - somebody could say they using reports from fans to correct their bugs...

But deleting the thread or locking it would also be bad. (Keeping it alive by senseless posts will give them the reason to lock it because of 'its length').

This is how many companies operate today. The only thing that can change something is a veritable sh*tstorm on the Internet, or very bad press. As long as they sell their games, they are completely indifferent to us all.

Face it - as long as we preorder and buy their stuff the day it comes out, they have no reason at all to change their behavior.

What are the appropriate Ways then? I mean this Thread is made by an Moderator and when its the wrong Section why hes not moving it to there? So and Bugs are not important for you? Do you need new Haircuts or what?

The easiest way to get the developers to pay attention is to document as thoroughly as possible (preferably with video and screenshots and exact issues and situations) and to submit them through the main website to the help section. You will be directed to a specific area for bugs and issues. Beth and Zeni are pretty good about attending to issues if done that way (I had a number of them with ESO by Zeni and they were attended to).

Don't need new haircuts though. I don't really have any issues of note. Sure there's some irritation with the settlement building parts, but I can live with those.

Frankly, as a Beth game, I am more than satisfied if my game doesn't crash and I don't have broken quests. I've been through 5 times now and, yes, there are minor bugs and irritations, but they're nothing game breaking for me.

Go to :

http://help.bethesda.net/app/fallout_feedback

They should be able to help you there

And the forum location is:

http://www.gamesas.com/forum/316-fallout-4-hardware-software-issues/

there is a separate forum for each platform.

I want to make sure that the more knowledgeable forumers can confirm this, but this what I gleaned from info here and from contacting Beth myself when I was having issues previously.

Even no Gamebreaking Bugs should be worth for a Fix, or? Do you want an Award for not having any Bugs? Should Bethesda now stop the Support because you have no Problems at all or because you dont want see them? The List on confirmed Bugs in this Moderator List is not less, but we can finally sleep because you dont have them.

Didn't ps3 get skyrim dlc working a year after 360 release? PS4 doesn't like f4 either.
