Are the coming "Anti-Cheat measures" more CVAR Limitations

Post » Sat Dec 10, 2011 7:07 pm

hi,

I know there hadn't be a thread about his yet, so I created this thread.

To Crytek: Are you going to limit the CVARs even more?
The last patch was a fail in terms of anit-cheat measures, because you just locked down the console for SINGLEPLAYER AND MULTIPLAYER.

What can we expect?
Thanks.

Oh, I remember the good old times with Crysis 1, where we still can fully change the CVARs :)

Hi!

The large amount of CVar accessibility loss in the 1.4 patch was result of a change in the system (converting to a whitelist system, rather than a blacklist). There has been a proposed list of CVars suggested to the appropriate teams but this needs to be tested and scrutinised before being added to the whitelist. This is an ongoing process that we'll hopefully be able to finalise soon; we know how important it is to be able to tweak your settings but we also want to ensure that fair gameplay is had by all so it's a long and exact process that needs to happen to be done right :)

Onto your question specifically; i've requested information regarding any further CVar changes in the upcoming patch and will hopefully be able to share this with you shortly.

Cheers!
