Are there any EPIC sidequests?

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 1:58 pm

Im not talking about the guild quests, which Ive enjoyed so far. I just want to know if there's any sidequest which is maybe a little more secretive, as well as difficult with loot worth the time/difficulty?
I only say this because I've been a final fantasy player, and in each games there's a sidequest(s) which are more difficult than the main quest, and are wonderful. I remember beating emerald weapon in FFVII, and felt like I really accomplished something. (Not trying to compare and say OMG FF SO BETTER, just curious)
So I was just wondering if anyone has found a side quest like this in Skyrim?

The one involving Potema is pretty epic.
Meridia's quest also is.

The Sergius Septimus sidequest is pretty epic. Although, the reward was extremely disappointing.

Discerning the Transmundane is the most epic side quest I've done so far. To start it go talk to Septimus Signus north of the College of Winterhold. It's also overlapping a bit with the main quest too, so it's like killing 2 birds with one stone.

Like Luke said, pretty much all the Daedric quests are pretty epic or at least memorable.

Speaking of Daedric quests, The Whipering Door was really bad...

Yes to the Daedric quests, the 5 i've done so far were good. I also liked "Tending the Flame". I've enjoyed the two quest I have done so far where I got the Masks....(dragonmage masks?) Not sure if they are part of the main story or a guild style quest. there should be ...8?...of them.

Can't believe I forgot about The Wolf Queen one. I was so surprised when I got the quest, because we've heard and read so much about Potema in the books from games past. I never expected to actually have a quest about her...

There are a lot of quests I think worth drooling over for us lore monkeys.
How about the other encounter with the historical person in Solitude?
I like that one :)

Definitely! That one was awesome and totally unexpected.

Solitude is the place to be for cool side quests it seems...

"Waking Nightmare" I thoroughly enjoyed. The end loot is pretty good if you have the heart to well....

"A Night to Remember' is also pretty fun. Although, I never did find that goat; intimidation got me the answer I wanted faster.

A Night To Remember was fun, but mostly because of real life memories, or lack of memories... :celebration:

Finding 10 bear pelts was pretty epic because when you receive this quest, the number of bears you run into becomes EPIC in proportion to the number of bears you'd come across before receiving the quest.

In fact, it's so EPIC, large number of bears will continue to spawn in the world before you as long as you have not handed in those 10 bear pelts. They practically home in on your EPIC location.

I liked the one where you find out the Dwemer have been hiding underground the whole time, and you get to re-introduce them to society...

Umm, if the Stormcloak/Empire quests can be considered side-quests, they were pretty damn epic... but apparently you need to do them in order to finish the main quest...

So I'd go with Sanguine's questline.

Discerning is a pretty amazing quest. Not to mention you get one of the better rewards in the game once you finish it.
