Are there any races in Tamriel?

I mean like Roman chariot races, they've got an arena, but I was wondering, if they have, and races.

A good question. Since they have Roman-style arenas, I don't see why they couldn't have the Circus also. I don't think they're mentioned in the books, nor in the games.

Come to think of it, I'm not sure that chariots have been invented in Tamriel. Does anyone know if the people of Tamriel have them, let alone wagons? Maybe the dependence on magicka has lessened the importance of upgrading other forms of transport. They could still have horse races, of course, or riders on horseback racing against each other.

Sure, there's Bosmer, Nord...oh wait.

Well, they have horses, so horse racing should be in.

Azura:
"You've been taking from the Imperial Prison, first by carriage, now by boat, to Morrowind..."

I don't know if they're the exact words but you know what i mean ;)

I think there was a wagon system in Daggerfall as well.

the dunmer should've had silt strider races, or shalk betting. or "the running of the cliff racers"

That gives me the mental picture of silt striders heading out like a yacht race; each with different colors painted on it, or flying banners. Need some modders in here, maybe. :)

Fliggerty was working on a moving silt strider mod at one point, but it was ridiculously complicated, given the impassible roads and rivers that make the creature get stuck.

A lot of ideas are probably better off left unmodded anyway. Although it's a shame the siltstriders probably will never be in Keyes' upcoming TES novels.

Our luck it'll turn out that they're the ones behind it all.

In 2920, the Prince was attacked and killed by rogues who ambushed the royal chariot.
