Are there quests with moral decisions?

Post » Thu Mar 27, 2014 10:54 am

The point would depend on how you are looking at your choices and decisions. I'm looking at it differently to you, as I'm not making decisions based on what I might get from it like rewards etc, I'm looking at it as what I or my character would do.

There might be others out there too that think the same way.

Yes, this is a good point to keep in mind.

Precisely :)

More than you apparently think.

People who are playing for the story content, or role-playing with their characters.

The pvp players probably won't be too concerned; as soon as they hit level 10 they'll be heading for Cyrodiil.

This is the one downside to MMOs. I am now paranoid about reading everything because I was rushing through the dialogue during the beta to try and avoid reading as much as possible to keep it fresh for the actual game release and there were a few missions with the red dialogue and if you go to quickly you might end up picking the wrong one.

Ermmm... The Op for a start.

Also people that enjoy the storyline, character creation, role play and questing. I would have thought that a majority of people would care about questlines and choices to varying degrees, and I base that on many people that pre-order ESO would be not only be familiar with TES games but it's style of game play and questlines and decisions.

I think being an MMO is irrelevant, it's an Elder Scrolls MMO and many fans of TES will be playing this game as yet another chapter of what TES is.

Judging by previous posts in this thread, I'd say there is quite a few that do care about decisions made in this game.

Is there any real difference in terms of exp, or some form of in-game reputation that makes NPCs friendlier/aggressive?

Therefore is an faction ^^.

No real one likes that Aldmeri.

They all can join there and be our "Horde".

When I used to play Runescape and it had serious, actual quests with enigmas, puzzles, mysteries and tons of research (even translating and decrypting ancient languages) I found it fun to do what you are saying.

On a game where all quests are "deliver x" "kill x" disguised with lore, it feels a bit empty. I didn't even think people cared. I just skip through everything.

Yes, I encountered a few of them. I don't know yet if they will have later implications, but I guess I'll find out at launch!

The rewards are just a small bit of my problem... it isn't just the actual "filthy lucre" you get, it is that the results are the same. If I really ticked the captain off to the point she wants to kill me... then perhaps there SHOULD be a battle... maybe I need to now find a different boat to ride on? I chose the docks over the fort, so now to get to the city (entrance really close to the fort) I have to fight a somewhat epic fight of guys who just conquered the fort and now have the strong position to attack ME... Or, maybe if you choose the fort, the commander who was at the docks dies, which makes a further quest down the road more difficult possibly...

All sorts of REAL consequences for actions. In Skyrim, simple decision: support imperials, or support stormcloaks. Make the decision, the rest of the game is actually altered. Not asking for anything that massive, but man, shouldn't there be SOME sort of change that affects the path you are walking down? Instead, what we have is a fork in the road that just has a little change of scenery then rejoins the same road again, almost as if you never left it. There aren't any more vines, a leaf-covered pit, or anything on either of the paths, so it really doesn't matter which one you pick, you get some cool scenery, then are right back on the main road again.
