I've played FO:NV faithfully since it came out, and unfortunately i lost my 1st and 2nd playthroughs due to savegame corruption, but since i had the opportunity to replay the entire 1st 10 levels or so on my 2nd gameplay before it too was lost, i thought i would see tons of different encounters at certain areas..but so far it seems everything is the same?
let me explain-
In Fallout 3, i really enjoyed the whole "random wasteland encounters hotspots" thing- You could save a game at some point, then go running off to a nearby "hotspot" and see different "encounters" every time you reloaded, sometimes in one hotspot it would be some escaped slaves, or maybe this time you reloaded it there is a merchant there instead, or maybe a guy that runs up to you saying he has explosives strapped to him, and you need to save him by defusing the bomb...etc etc
heck one time in Fallout 3 i even met the famous philosophical supermutant Fawkes wandering around aimlessly on the desert near a "hotspot", waaaaaaay before i even met him near the end of the game where he becomes an ally if you save him...after reloading, i got a different encounter, so it was also a random!
the point is everytime you walked past a preordained "hotspot" it would trigger an "encounter" that was randomized..
So far in FO:NV i have seen the same creatures and NPC's at the places i have traveled between my 2 playthroughs..
So is it i just have not found one of these "hotspots"? the wasteland IS a big place, after all..
or did they remove these in FO:NV?
just wondering, loving the game even though i have now had over 60 hours wasted by savegame corruptions...
(you DEVS better release a patch soon or i will have to start my 3rd playthrough lol! )
