Are these files safe to delete?

Post » Tue Feb 01, 2011 3:24 pm

Hey guys, so I need to delete viruses off this laptop (not mine) and he wants Windows 7. I still have my install disc for Windows 7 so that part shouldn't be a problem, but I still need to know how to transfer files from a laptop to a desktop.

Here is the log after I went into safe mode and did a full scan with malwarebytes anti-malware (are any of them not safe to delete?)

Spoiler
Windows 6.0.6002 Service Pack 2 (Safe Mode)

Nothing wrong with the actual files infected

The registry entries all look safe AFAIK, always hard to tell on some of them, but some of them are quite obivously safe to do away with.

I think I'll head to BestBuy tomorrow to buy a transfer cable. What should I look for when I go there? Just "transfer cable"?

That's what LANs are for, just copy the files over your network (preferably wired). If you have Gigabit network adapters, this is definitely the way to go, by far the fastest. If you have a 100Mbit network, it's still a pretty good option. If your only network is craptacular 54 Mbit wireless, then you're in for pain doing it this way, in which case a transfer cable is the way to go.

So should I just delete them all then?
