When a game flat out doesn't work and people are unable to play it's more than just "patience" IMO.
My nuts would be over a fire if a website I made couldn't sell and ship products upon release...they'd chain me to my desk lol
With how great Fallout 3 was, I never thought that F:NV would have so many problems. (That's what I get for not dong my research.)
And I think more than chains should be needed - whips, flames, etc.
Not far into the game, I ran into the Ant Nectar bug. He became addicted
the first time he used the nectar. Now he has -2 Str with no way of getting rid of that. Game breaking? No, but it is a serious detriment. Combine that with non-working features (I can't even play Carivan because the game won't allow me to put numbered cards on my piles - face cards yes, numbered cards no), constant graphical glitches (its so nice to see that my avatar gets exercise by removing his arms, putting them above his head and letting them drop back into place; maybe he's trying to get his 2 Strength back?), and the DLC & corrupted game save issues that I am sure that I'll run into, this has to be the biggest pile garbage I've ever seen made.
Yes, the scenery is great. The graphics (when they're not clipping or tweaking off of something) are beautiful. And the gameplay is nice. But the game is not working as it should.
I am very tempted to return my game. If I am able to, I may not repurchase it with the issues that it was released with. Simply because a company wants to put out a product to compete within their industry does not mean that they can put out something that does not work as intended and not be held accountable. (And if it is working as intended, then there is something wrong with the company!)
Its sad if I do have to return it...I really, really loved Fallout 3. Its just depressing that they'd let this come out after it. (There's no excuse. Even in a rushed (closed) Beta, they would've ran into these issues.)
