Are they Here to STAY?

so im like 30 hours in and ive still not gone to see the greybeards yet. my reason is because im scared that if i finish the game the dragon are gone. is this true?
i heard a rumour that they fly off afterwards

From what I have read here the dragons still exist after the completion of the MQ.
