Are you always sneaking?

Post » Sat Aug 01, 2009 8:51 am

Hi guys.

I recently discovered a strange trend I have had since Fallout 3. Whenver I am in an area with enemies, I am constantly sneaking about. I think I do this because it lets me know if I have been spotted or not, but it is really strange.

So my question is: How many other people do this too? Do you always sneak about like me? Or do you just run around waiting for enemies to come into your cross hairs.

I go into crouch mode to increase my accuracy of my iron sights, then, BOOM! Headshot!

I also always sneak. In any RPG that i play it has always been a habit of mine to sneak. I like to sneak around their defenses and take out their leaders and or use their defenses for my own good. I would suggest always sneaking also because sneak attacks help.

I`m not always sneaking but I do it alot. It`s been a habit since way back from playing socom 2. ( if anyones played the campaign on that thing you`ll get why).

Yes, a lot. It lets me know if I've been spotted and it steadies my weapon when I have to aim. With companions, I try to sneak less but it also helps to keep them from running off as much and attacking instead of following my lead. I have my favorite Recon armor too so that adds to my sneaking. :)

Recon armor is nice, but the new Assassin's suit from Dead Money trumps it! :)

I only crouch when engaging enemies from long range to get added accuracy. once they get mid to close range it's a moving battle where I'm constantly repositioning using cover and shooting back.

I'm never sneaking, I fight like a man! :P

My ranged characters occasionally crouch to improve accuracy, but not for stealthing.

I like crouching for the weapon steadiness factor, don't care much about the "sneaky" part. Above ground, I usually don't crouch until enemies start firing, and then I use it to steady my aim. If I'm doing some serious sniping from a distance, I'll crouch before anyone sees me, of course. And in caverns/underground I'll tend to use it more often because the tight quarters/lack of visibility is when I appreciate the sneaky aspect more.

I removed the sneak-crit multiplier, however, so hits made while sneaking don't get bonus damage. I want to steady my aim/have less sway, not get tons of extra damage just because I know how to bend my knees.

Anytime I can see red dots on my radar, I'm sneaking.

Yes, habitually. Even if I do not use a stealthy character.

Purty much. If there are enemies nearby I'm sneaking, trying to get a good vantage point, organising a rough plan of attack and ensuring that I haven't been spotted. Even my psychotic character would sneak into position before charging in, she liked to get the jump.
All my characters sneak for different reasons, some to avoid, some to quietly take down outlying members/easy targets and some to set up for the fight. It's useful.

I sneak whenever I'm in a combat situation or see an enemy whether I'm hidden or not and don't exit sneak until I get hit and realize I can move faster by standing up.

This is key. I find that it can be prudent to know when to stand up and run like a bat out of you know where. I outran the Nightkin chasing me the other day until I could find a place to hide. :)

It's a bit natural for me to sneak. Crouching has been a part of my playing habits for quite some time. However, I've more and more become used to only crouching when wanting to use melee weapons. Going sneaking a ranged weapon is fine and all but it makes things a lot less interesting for me, especially if it's enemies that I know I can kill before they can either detect or get within melee range.

Sneak all the time while indoors or caves with enemies. In the wasteland I usually am running around until I see red tick marks and then I go into sneak. If I see red markers moving fast I hit sneak fast and walk slowly, I hate Cazadors.

Yup, sneak a lot. Sort of fits the Survivor roleplay out in the wastes whee there's no medical help.

I know my character can take 3 or 4 shots to the head, but I like to pretend that might be dangerous.
