Are you annoyed that there was no news at E3?

Wait for QuakeCon. Its a developer event, not a producer event like E3, and therefor the most likely place for TES V to be announced.

Even though I'm not really expecting an E3 announcement I'm still annoyed at the total lack of any info whatsoever about TES:V. Just a simple acknowledgement that it's in production would be nice.

I realise how this statement contradicts with my sig, but this is TES we're talking about :D

The announcement will have to come before QuakeCon because the trademark expires before QuakeCon. If TESV has multiplayer frag-fests built into it (like all the other games at QuakeCon) then I am gonna vomit.

bethesda never like long waits....when you hear about es5, you will ahve a stead stream of info about it till release....unlike some that string fans along for years only releasing a bit of new info occasionally.

Pete hines said they wouldnt, so im not upset...however if quakecon comes and goes them I'll be a little miffed....as he implied something with quakecon.

E3 is trash. I hope Bethesda doesn't rush it. I doubt they will announce it at E3 anyway, they'll just wait till QuakeCon to announce it. Although Skyrim trademark does expire soon....

I'm hoping they let it go. Maybe we'll get a game set somewhere interesting, not a pseudo-Scandinavian version of Oblivion's "happy forest".

From what little I understand of it, E3 is more of a game hardware developers' event than for software developers, even if many of them do attend and display there. Perhaps I'm totally mistaken, never having attended, but that's the impression I get from the news. I've seen a couple of blurbs about gimmicky new 3D hardware being announced, with software demos especially for it, but not much info on anything else.

E3 is more of a PressCon then an actual Gaming convention imo. I just prefer conventions like GamesCon and PAX, because they are for the gamer.

Are you serious? Just check out the names of the companies on the booths. Almost all of them are developers not hardware folks... This is where developers go to show their stuff to each other. A lot of the time they are able to network and learn and also they can show raw unfinished games to each other because unlike us, their peers will know that even without the textures and the color and the refinement, there is some impressive (INSERT GAME MECHANIC HERE) going on... Sure there are the few booths for gaming accessories and novelty one-offs, but Ubisoft, EA, Sega etc. are not in the hardware business yet have major showings at the event.

WANT ANOUNCEMENT

Fine, you twisted my arm... The latest title in the smash hit series "Barbie Princess" is none other than "Barbie Princess: Diana". Developer Ubisoft claims:

"We're taking a darker, more advlt look at the Mattel franchise. We think that Barbie should tackle more advlt topics, seeing as she is now over 50. I think gamers will really be pleased with the level of gore and realistic advlt themes. Mass Effect really opened some doors for gamers, and in this game we will see Barbie taking on royal infidelity as well as inter-species romance. Also, expect DLC throughout 2011 as we chronicle affected members of Barbie's royal family. The first is "Dad is a Queen" followed shortly there-after with "Prince Albert: Metal"

Of course in a strange and completely unnecessary move by Ubisoft, they decided to have Bethesda publish the game stating, "It sits along the same caliber as "Rogue Warrior" not only in quality, but in content, so it only made sense."

There, you have your announcement... wait were you looking for other news? You'll have to be more specific next time.

There's too much wrong with that statement to even go into it.

Well, it's basically a "gaming event," it showcases hardware, sure, but it does do a lot of software as well, both developed and published. Just go on near any gaming website and you'll se at least a few dozen titles that have been showcased or outright announced.

Thank you, friend. You've abated my trepidation about the future of the dynamic Barbie Princess series.

In all seriousness, though, I can't possibly be disappointed about something that was never promised. My gamer sense of entitled stops there, I'm afraid. My natural pessimism tells me that Quakecon will pass with no news of TESV - I've accepted this, thereby shielding myself from disappointment.

What about fallout 3?
There was a lockdown on information for a while there.

Honestly....to those who say "I dont want them to rush anything" screw you! Its going on 5 years since TES IV! I agree a trailer would be soooo much better then a lame " Yes, we're currently making the next installment of TES series" but that lame comment is better then leaving us(customers and devoted fans) hanging like they have been. I mean there are some people on here who probably check everyday that they wake up to see if there is an announcement. Thats not me, but I check every now and then and to see there is STILL NOTHING! Its alittle upsetting and annoying I must say.

We've waited 5 years, there's a ton of other great games to play, so no worries :) when it's out it'll be fantastic, and I really don't reckon we'll have more than a year to wait, even with delays. I'm obviously interested in any news they want to share with us, and rampant speculation is always funny to read and occasionally be a part of, but I'm more than happy for them to take their time and do the game and the series justice.

I think they learned a lesson from Oblivion of not announcing it too soon. When you do, you either need to go long periods of saying nothing, which is never good because it causes fans to speculate too much and then they get disappointed when they hyper-speculation is let down, or they need to avoid that by showing more than they wanted to. So they are waiting until they feel they have a reliable and non-insane release date.

Lol.
Cause you've seen it, right? You know what Skyrim will look like, right? Give me a break.

Yeah, me too. I was hoping for a "Pete lied just to throw us off! Tricksters!" But alas, they were truth-tellers after-all. Well, we'll see I guess after today which is the last day of E3, but nothing ever happens on the last day. Everyone is tired and people start packing up...
