Good to know that there are some great alternatives. Just kidding of course. Bethesda know this and probably that's why they are taking their time with TES V.

This is simple folks. Bethesda is publishing a huge amount of big name games at the moment (RAGE, Brink, Fallout: New Vegas) and any announcement on TES V-- which is off in the distance as far as release goes, would simply unnecessarily steal buzz away from the other games gamesas is trying to get out there now. I didnt answer the question because I dont have an opinion, but this is truly the way it is. If you're expecting news, wait till after this holiday season, maybe sooner if we're lucky, but i doubt it considering Fallout releases in Oct.

As people have already pointed out, the copyright of Skyrim is null unless they officially announce TES V: Skyrim before the end of July - I would say that is the right time to do it.

After all, as people have also said that GI is teasing something that MAY be TES V - I think it may work out something along the lines of Bethesda Game Studios releasing a teaser trailer, or event teaser website of TES V: Skyrim in July sometime or even at the end of June, which will send the gaming world into a frenzy, then a little bit later GI will have a ton of info released when the July issue is shipped.

Think about it, all these other games Bethesda Softworks is Publishing, not Bethesda Game Studios. What other potential franchise could they be working on?

Yeah, hopefully they can redeem themselves by showing it in game informer next month.

Ha, dont keep your hopes up on getting first word from GI, bethesda will annonce shortly before a GI comes out with infomation (like they did with oblivion/fallout 3).

Just hold your horse, better they make a finished game that will be good, then rush a short unfinshed game. RPG do not have the same sort of content requires as a FPS or any game that focuses on multiplayer.

Yes, Bethesda will first have to announce the game on their website before the Game Informer or anybody else can reveal anything.

Good idea, Pat, ol' boy! I hadn't thought about the copyright thing. It'd be perfect timing.

I am annoyed, yes, that it's been almost 5 years since Oblivion was released and still no official word on the progress of an Elder Scrolls V. But, Bethesda made themselves rather clear that they wouldn't be announcing the game. How mad can I be?

I was expecting them to spring an Elder Scrolls MMO on us rather than ESV, and then expecting them to announce ESV at Quakecon. However, givenr ecent developments, I think they'll announce the Elder Scrolls MMO at Quakecon and ESV next year :brokencomputer:

They already announced they are not making a TES mmorpg..todd said something along the lines of "Bethseda is not a MMORPG company...we are a RPG company"( that's clearly not a exact quote but you can look it up on google)

Doesn't matter. Be patient. Were all pretty sure that they're going to release a TESV right? Well regardless if they announce it at E3 it wont speed up how fast we get it. If its going to be released soon it will. If not then oh well. What they say at E3 doesn't affect much.

I was annoyed by the lack of an announcement at E3, mostly because I'm annoyed at the lack of an announcement in general haha.
I wrote a lengthy complaint, then deleted it. Just writing it was theraqeutic, I suppose.

Hurry up and make TESV. >=-(

Yeah, what can we do except complain about it.
And then pretend to agree/care when someone disapproves of the complaining.

No, I wasn't annoyed that there was no announcement. Mainly because I was not expecting one in the first place, I think it is far more likely to announced in GI next month or at Quakecon.

I am content to wait, everyone needs to learn some patience.

Like others have said I would rather have a full, complete game than a rushed game full of bugs and unfinished questlines.

To be honest, there have been so many great games released recently that I've been more than occupied. When ES V comes out I'm sure it'll be great, but I'm not going to sit around and drive myself crazy wondering when that'll be. :)

well im not angry as such more disapointed, i live the elder scrolls that and kotor (which was destroyed n going mmo) i didnt expect an annoucment but like some people here saying have paitents iv been waiting 5 years, and i feel bethesda have drifted away from the elderscrolls thay make 1 game fallout and bang no intrest in the elderscrolls anymore, i cant say i speak for everyone but if thay decided an mmo i feel like me and others will leave bethesda and find another game franchise, its funny how game companies love their fans till thay gain abit of fame and dont really care what we want any more, but hay i love bethesda n even now im looknig forward to sum news but if i dont get any by gi or even quakecon il be finished with bethesda. and il even give a reason 1 oblivion came out before fallout yet fall out new vagas is out before number 5, 2 the inferno city svcks so bad id jab myself, and 3 halo reach is out this yr along with medal of honor n black ops n once i play them i dont think il be coming back to bethesda unless a certain game gets annouced.

I thought that Bethesda might even show just a teaser trailer for TESV instead of showing nothing

Its been about 5 years since IV and we haven't seen anything on the fifth

Have they given up on the game and are now focusing on other games?

Well you can't expect too much, barely anything was shown when TES IV was released.

Eh, quality takes time. As many other people have said, I'd much rather wait several years for an awesome game than wait only a couple years for a game that's kind of half-assed. The fans had to wait quite a long time for Oblivion to come out, but despite its flaws it was good enough to (mostly) satisfy the old fans - most of whom had certainly not lost interest - and bring in plenty of players who'd never heard of the series. I could go to the store right now and have my pick of plenty of RPG's that are somewhat entertaining, but there's a reason that TESV is the only game I'm looking forward to. So long as TESV is at least as good as Morrowind and Oblivion when it finally comes out, I'm willing to wait indefinitely.
