Are You Buying Skyrim?

Post » Wed Jul 06, 2011 1:20 am

So now that the Q&A is up we have some new Information. Have you decided wether or not you are going to buy Skyrim now that we have some fresh new Insight into the game?

Personally, Although there are a few pieces of Info I'm unsure about, I am still willing to give them a chance and Skyrim remains my most Anticipated game of this year.

Skyrim still rips the competition, there's no doubt in the world I won't get the most expensive limited edition evurr on day 1 :D It's just a shame because I just feel it could've been better. But I won't draw any conclusions yet, and like I said, I'll buy it anyway.

According to the info so far... when the price drops, possibly.

Short of completely ignoring the lore and being a console exclusive, nothing can make me not buy Skyrim.

There are some decisions I disagree with, but I can see why Bethesda did it the way they did, and I will give it a fair try before deciding that its the worst thing to ever happen.

On the fence with some of the things mentioned in the Q/A, but it's not enough to deter me from a first day purchase. With that said, I don't think anything really is a deterrence for me.

Ditto. Only thing that would stop me is system requirements too high for my PC (which svcks, but could run FO3/FO:NV).

Sure, a couple things sound a bit silly (like marriage, or armor = chest+pants), but those are minor issues, honestly.)

Of course I am. I'm upset about the lack of variation in character speed but it's not a dealbreaker for me.

Hard to imagine someone on the forum not willing to even try the game because of some small changes... that's like not willing to try someone's cooking because they switched out your favorite ingredient...

Even with some of the more debatable changes it still looks to be mind blowing, so yes, I'll be getting it for sure.

Probably, but I have to say, my expectations have sunk quite a bit. They're taking the whole streamlining thing too far.

All I am seeing is what has been removed. It far outweighs what has been added and this we knew before the QA. Now that we have the option of Tavern Brawls and Marriage It dropped from must buy to undecided on day 1. If they release info on what they are working on(if anything at all) I may go back to day 1 if the info is good. If not I will wait a year and buy it in the bargain bin and download all of the stuff the true developers have created in that time.

Not all games are perfect, don't set your standards to that. You'll just be disappointed.I am disappointed with 1 or two things, other than that, hell ya! :intergalactic:

I've already got my pre-order. I don't agree with all of their decisions, but my sore points are offset by far more new things that I like, and I actually trust Bethesda, longtime professional video game developers, to do a decent job with their own series.

EDIT: Although I think this question would be better asked later on. Right now people haven't had time to really digest everything, and might still have their blood up from a piece of info they particularly liked or disliked.

Yes, i'm preordering the CE and going to the midnight launch. I'm happy with all the answers, but I think it should have been longer.

Hell no! They said they wont talk about werewolves until the game is released. [censored], I was hoping to preorder the game when werewolves are confirmed, I guess I wont be doing any of that.

My thoughts exactly. My Philosiphy is this; Perfection is not real, it is an Ideal, many people strive for perfection but will never reach it. This apllies to everything, even our beloved Skyrim.

However, This should not stop people from trying, While Perfection doesn't exist in a literal sense, you can get close to it.
The closest any Video Game Developer had gotten to Perfection, IMO, are Oddworld Inhabitants with Abe's Exoddus, My Favourite video game of all time.
