Are you a collector? Will you collect something in Skyrim?

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 11:32 pm

In Oblivion, I tried to collect every type of shield and every type of helmet in the game. I used them to decorate my house (or wizards keep, or fortress or whatever).

It was even more fun with some of the big mods, like O-O-O, where they added additional variety. I have heard of other players collecting books.

What about you, are you a collector? Will you collect something in Skyrim?

I'm definitely a collector. I RP a Nord Warrior in most games (did in Morrowind and in Oblivion) that collected precious gems, and collected full sets of Heavy Armor, and also 2 handed Axes.

It was a pain in the butt to place them where you wanted, so I hope the physics in Skyrim will make this easier.

Oh sooo true, unless they were flat, they would either fall or roll around then flop down, also it bugged the crap out of me whenever it would say "not enough room to drop this item". or however it was worded, when i would be standing a yard+ away from a wall or anything..agh.

Rant aside i agree with you, i would placing things in your house will be improved, but not limited by any means.

I will pick up each and every one of the most useless items in the game and cart them home with me. I can't wait!

I was just an equipment collector in Oblivion, i.e. armor and weapons. Nothing special. But I did love to show off whatever I could in the environment of my homes, so I really hope the developers find a better system for presenting books, armor and weapons in our homes this time around.

Nice civilian/noble clothing, even though I'd never have much reason to wear them sadly.

I've always collected fun or interesting books, so I'll continue that tradition in Skyrim. Beyond that, I'm not much of a collector of things.

In Morrowind I turned Dren Plantation into a giant Museum, but i didn't really collect anything in Oblivion. Didn't have the computer version so I never had a good item variety because lack of mod support :( . If there is a wide variation of Items that are difficult to acquire in Skyrim then I will collect stuff again.

I tend to put different tipes of equipment in different chest. A chest for stee, a chest for daedric... and of course books.

Usually I make each file tailored to do a specific guild and then pick my favorite for the Main Quest. So I always grab all the kick ass gear that you get for doing that. Like King of Worms gear, Arch Mage gear, Gray Prince's Rainment, etc.

Then I make an evil mass murderer and he collects the spoils of whatever town he just massacred in the nearest house he owned.

I stored a copy of every single unique ingredient in my waterfront shack. Im sure I will do the same in Skyrim.

My Skingraad house is clad in the finest rare items as well. It was fun placing items like the unique painting I had made for me in Chorrol there
