Are you going back to Re-Play Oblivion now?

Post » Tue Sep 07, 2010 12:35 pm

I just started playing Oblivion again. I probably won't play it straight through till Skyrim, but I'll do several guild questlines, main quest, Shivering Isles' main quest, some side quests, random exploration, and some mods. Then I'll find something to satiate myself until Skyrim.

Does currently working on a mod for Oblivion count? The only time I'm playing anything right now is to playtest something from my mod.

I'm the same. I spend all my time on my 'mod'. I haven't actually played Oblivion since the first few weeks of it's release.
But I have played WITH Oblivion and the modding programs for thousands of hours.
My hobby is an endless mod that I've worked on for years - a carry on from my Morrowind modding which I'll get back to when I can get it running again.
My Oblivion folder contains 40gb of stuff with 350 thousand files.

So yes, I'll be with Oblivion until E5 arrives.

After Skyrim was getting information after information on it, It makes me want to re-play oblivion just to get the feeling.

Are any of you guys re-playing in light of all this new info?

No. I was already playing before and after they announced Skyrim. Infact i've been playing for the past couple years.

Started just a couple of hours ago as a Breton in Oblivion. And since there's no chance in hell I'll be getting any sleep tonight, looks like I'll be busy.

Replaying Morrowind...which only depresses me knowing that Skyrim will probably be a little too much like Oblivion for my tastes. And I freakin hate Oblivion. You couldn't pay me to play it again. Well you could, but it would have to be a lot of money. :brokencomputer:

I will quickly replay it Two Weeks before Skyrim's release.

@Korusus -- What the ****? Oblivion was awesome. Of course, that's your opinion, and you couldn't make me read your dumb post again for any amount of money.

I actually quit playing Oblivion (after 3 years) a week before Skyrim was announced. I play some Morrowind now, though.

No because I'm unable to at present. Good PC is busted and my 360 copy was gobbled up and mutilated by my old 360 while it was in the process of breaking so as a result it doesn't work! I may buy the GOTY at some point, perhaps, depending how much it is.

Already did. Skipped Knights of the Nine and all of the Guilds, went straight for the MQ of Oblivion and SI. Roleplayed my character a bit, as a reluctant 'hero' that falls into depression and skooma usage after the Oblivion crisis, but finds himself again in the Shivering Isles.

I'm actually playing Morrowind right now. Don't get me wrong, I love Oblivion, but I always seem to go back to Morrowind no matter what.

I'll probably start another playthrough of Oblivion at some point though, whenever a sequel comes out, I always make it a point to re-play the last game in the series over again as a story refresher.

I'll be playing morrowind for a while, then do oblivion again.
I love them both the same :)
But when i hear the morrowind music...well....it just makes me happy :)
That was the first elder scrolls game i played.
Infact ,i remember at the time,a xbox magazine gave it 7/10....after buying it and playing myself,i thought 7/10 was wrong.
I'd never played a game like it......But listening to the morrowind music, brings back good memory's ,you know :)
Best game i'd ever played untill oblivion. I love both the same, both had good and bad points.
A combination of things from both those games, would have been EPIC!
Hopefully skyrim will be that and more, more as a new approach, while adding some flavour from previous games.
Sorry ,that was a long winded answer, got carried away....No harm done

Play Oblivion again? God, I had a hard enough time playing it once.

Honestly, I don't think I'll play any other TES game for the mean time. I mean, I literally haven't played a TES game for several years now. I just lost interest for a while. I blame Mechwarrior. :D

I'm currently playing through Both Morrowind and Daggerfall, and have several unfinished characters in OB, I guess I could continue with one of them, but I've played OB so much it has almost become too familiar. I can't really look at it with fresh eyes, but it's been years since I completed the main quest, so now is probably a good incentive to complete it.

I'm going to start with my first play of Daggerfall, then probably pick up a copy of Morrowind again. After that, I'll play oblivion one more time before Skyrim :D

I'm playing 'em all - I've never actually finished any of them - one character won't keep my attention for long.

I'm replaying it and I must say that it's more enjoyable now than before, probably because I had my hopes way up when it was released. There are still a lot
of incredibly annoying things in the game though, the good side quests and Shivering Isles makes it enjoyable.

Other than that I was thinking of giving Daggerfall a second shot if it actually wanted to work on my pc.
Also, I have played morrowind so many times I figured I should give Oblivion and especially Daggerfall more attention.
