Are you going to "Blind" TES V?

Post » Tue Mar 15, 2011 12:52 am

IF you are unfamiliar with what blind means then it's basically not looking up any quests or characters or researching the game much on UESP or any other website. I think it makes for a more enjoyable game if you don't since you are experiencing it first hand. I won't even look up a character building tutorial.

I might do that during the second or third playthrough.

Well, it would be hard to stay away from the forums, seeing as how I basically live here, but other than that yes, I'm going to try to play without any outside help whatsoever.

I completely spoiled Oblivion for myself by using the Prima guide book for everything. Not going to make that mistake again.

Yes, I will do this. I regret buying the guide for Oblivion, it was the stupidest decision ever.
It really takes away from the immersion and excitement if you know what to expect and how to go about doing things.

I spoiled myself here and there with Morrowind and Oblivion and still regert it - this time I'm trying to remain chaste. :P

That's the best part of an RPG for me. The first few weeks of playtime when I have no idea what the hell anything is and I have to figure it all out myself and make choices is the best. When I know things, it loses the magic.

I won't look up anything on UESP, just watch pre-release screenshots and gameplay videos.

I like the idea of it, but I'm definately going to end up looking up stuff on it. I'm just too weak to not to.

Yeah I'm going to try this since I did the same thing with FNV. I enjoy it a lot more than FO3 now since I ruined FO3 for myself.

Only if I can't find myself in-game. I want to hear what I have to say. Other than that, I will indeed be going in blind... until I get frustrated with something. That's what usually happens.

I will not go see any wiki or such about ti, but that does not stop me from watching gameplay videos (not walkthrough videos) and looking at screenshots. I hope i can keep myself to this plan... :bonk:

I completely spoiled and destroyed Morrowind, will never do that again. After all I want to enjoy TESV.

This is what I did with Fallout: New Vegas, and it was a refreshing experience, after having my previous gamesas games somewhat ruined by my active moderatorship (and my fanboyism). But with FNV I was less active :P

Probably. I only had TES IV for Xbox for about 2 years and I rarely went on the internet. So I love how I know just about every nook and cranny of it, all from experience.

I'm certainly going to try and not find out much about the game. But it's going to be so hard. :( I really don't want to spoil much.

All I am planing on doing is probably reading the gameinformer issue about it, then watch a game play trailer and then I'll be waiting till it hits stores.

Ditto. I want to take my time and savor every moment of the game. I did the same thing with Oblivion - it took me weeks to get out of the Chorrol area. I'll only look up a cheat if I get desperate and the quest just isn't getting done.

Of course I′m not going to "Blind" it! It′s going to take place in Skyrim :swear: (I really wanted it to take place in Summerset), and I want to be sure it′s not going to be just "snow, snow, ice, snow POLAR BEAR!, snow, ice, ice, snow TREE!, snow, ice...". So, No! I′m not going to "Blind" it.
