Are you going to buy the game when it comes out or

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 11:40 pm

I don't have the time or money for the game, and I intend to spend both on it. My CE is currently waiting to take to the skies and be flown all the way over to my house.

Had it pre-ordered since May. :3

Ditto. Someone mentioned the CE and I checked out my local web retailer and lo and behold. :)

I pre-ordered the CE from Amazon back at the beginning of July with free release day shipping (Prime member). I emailed them to change my shipping address (web site wouldn't allow it) yesterday. They did it for me, and then I noticed they also switched me to standard shipping. I called them back, and they can't give me release day shipping anymore. They said that since they changed the address this close to release it's no longer available. WTF?!??!? The person that changed the address couldn't have mentioned that? I even escalated it to a manager and he said the computer will not give him the option to put it back. Looks like I'll have to wait 'til the 21st - 25th. Raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaage!!!! :flame: :swear:

Yeah... I feel the pain man. Due to delays with bank accounts I couldn't order from Amazon till it was too late too and ended up with no release date shipping either. Urge to kill: rising. I payed 10 bucks extra for overnight shipping. God help the mailman if it's late.

I'll be setting my pre-order on Tuesday, since it isn't out here till next Friday, hopefully it will arrive on release day. Though if not I'll wait. There hasn't been much of anything that interests me this past year, only a small handful of games that I've been interested in and I've bought the majoirity of those.

Wow... waiting for the GOTY would be so hard. I can barely stand waiting for the 19th. The price is not going to come down anytime soon. Good games are just that way. MW2 which came out about a year ago is still about full price and will stay ther until the next game comes out.

I did this for Fallout 3, thinking it would drop in price big time. Boy was I wrong. I waited over 9 months and ended up paying full price just like on day one release. I lost 9 months of play so I will not make the same mistake with New Vegas. I will be getting it on Tuesday.

I would lose my freaking mind if I waited for GOTY.

I already got the shakes and am starting to hallucinate.

It's a pre-order for me and the only thing I have to wait is for mods to come out.

I was gonna leave it a couple of days and watch the feedback, but I caved the day before yesterday and ordered from Play.com

Partly because of the Caravan stuff, and partly because Play have always shipped the game out earlier than the intended UK release day, with every other game I've pre-ordered from them. Since I'll be house sitting by the seaside for two weeks from the nineteenth, I've already got it going there, so it'll either be waiting for me or it'll arrive a couple of days after I do. Heh. Doubt I'll be seeing much of the area around the house I'm looking after.

A good thing about pre-ordering is that we've already spent the money, and alot of folks will not thus be tempted to just download the svcker off one of the hax sites and Not buying the game - which is where it hurts Obsidian and Bethesda. I know there are stats out there in which (on average) it only takes X days for a game to get hacked and will loose Y amount of profit in the end, and it seems that is never stronger in the age of peer 2 peer. The pre-ordering setup removes Some of that damage at least.

I always buy my games, I never hack them or use hacked games as that hurts the very companies when all I want to do is support them so they grow and make more cool games faster.

3 copies pre-ordered (1 for friend) and I'm getting the hardcover strategy guide. I think that's enough support for one game. :)

but thanks to Steamworks & publishers that don't warn people what DRM a game is using (not meaning Bethesda) I don't think I'll ever pre-order another pc game.

I think most people on the Forums here are pretty dedicated players to the Fallout franchise.

So most likely i'd say 97% of the people on the Forums pre-ordered the game.
