Are you going to do everything with one character?

I sincerely hope that the game does not allow me to do everything with one character. Even if I can, it is more likely that I get tired of the character before completing everything, so it is highly unlikely that I will do everything with one character. As for archtypes, I have a weakness for stealth mages ...

I hope we CAN'T do everything with each character.

Opposing mutually-exclusive factions please.

I will probabaly make around a dozen characters over time.
Each with their own interests, as well as limits.
I like to take my time roleplaying specific character types, leaving a lot more to be encountered in subsequent playthroughs.

We definitely know you can't join every faction in the game, because at least two of them - the Imperials and the rebels - are at odds with each other.

the fact that there are 2 factions so far, loyalist and rebels, I highly doubt we will be able to do everything with one char, and you know what? an even more epic option, the ability to seep into both factions and play them against each other AND profit from it....if Im careful

I make one character to become a god of everything in the game, then I make characters focused on specific areas.

I sincerely hope you won't be able to

I really, really want something like New Vegas, where you simply had to replay with different characters to get the full experience

I did demigod characters for MW and OB, but this will change for Skyrim. My first character will be an assassin/thief and will only do quests that make sense for an assassin/thief.
I'm not sure what I'll do with subsequent characters.

A "pantheon" of characters?

Did you by chance mean "plethora?"

If you accept the definition of "pantheon" as a collection of god-like deities (e.g. the Greek "pantheon" of Gods and Goddsses), then it actually works. :)

And yes, my Skyrim mountains will feature a pantheon of Goddesses . . . and probably a few Gods. Maybe. If they play nice . . .

I could give you a semi-good reason why I don't want to be able to do everything in one run, but really, I just want to play the damn game already. ;)

Being able to do everything with 1 character is boring. I liked how MW restricted me, and required me to make other characters if I wanted to experience other organizations.

I am the opposite. I didn't like how I have to make a different character becasue I didn't want to go through the same thing over again, so eventually it didn't feel like a different character.

I guess that I a more to blame because I restart all the time because I didn't like something, so I am hoping with Skyrim restariteis will not be so releveant now.

Well, my first is always my main. And he always completes every side quest, nearly explores everything that can be explored, and completes the MQ and atleast a couple of Guild questlines. The only thing I don't do with that main is go and do the DB quests when I've joined the Fighter's Guild. I leave that for my evil character, or my thief/assassin or whatever I happen to make next.

By the way, the poll needs to elaborate more. There's a lot more choices that can be put in than what is there.

I like making pure archetypes. Like pure mage, pure stealth, pure warrior. Hybrid stuff is to test our features, not that fun for roleplaying (for me atleast)

I normally do One character at the beginning like a mage or battle mage.. I'll do almost every quest in the game until I hit around lvl 50.. Then I'll make a Thief and break into houses and steal things I normally wouldn't do with my first character.. I always have two to three characters about the time a new Elder scroll game comes out.. But For the longest time I normally stick to just one characters to do the bulk of the game..

When I start getting board of the game or am stuck on a quest that is when I make the New character..

I don't think the OP ment you could do "everything" in a playthrough as literal as you guys think. It'd be a little ridiculous is Bethesda made every faction, side, quest, etc. Doable from one character without the characters actions or decisions locking them from some of it.

For myself I'll probably attempt to do as much as I can explore in a single playthrough is my GUESS. I'm unsure how Skyrim will turn out so if it's worthy undoubted attention is what it'll get.

As Deus Ex Human Revolution will have come out before it, most of my free entertainment ime will probably go towards it.

But honestly if I go by FO 3, New Vegas, and bits of Morrowind and Oblivion I played, it's very hard to stick to one character.

Even if the game is mediocre 2-4 characters is probably the base for the majority of players.

If Bethesda succeeds in being innovative while making this game their new gold standard(Replacing Morrowind) no doubt more will be merited.

They did it in Oblivion  I don't understand the mentality of people doing the Guild of fighters, then Mages, then DB, Then thieves and not see something hilariously off about what they are doing, its borderline Bipolar disorder. of course theres FREEDOM which I whoelle heartedly enjoy, but I'd like some difficulty in dipping my hands in everything, especially when it wouldnt make sense game wise

Lawl. Well for the general sense everyone usually attempts as much as they can handle on their first "main" fleshed out character.

It also has the advantage of actually being the playthrough your not godmodding with your character(Well untill you die and replay a situation)

But it seems with Bethesda stripping away the boundary placed by choosing what your characters proficient at from the get go the first playthrough will be more experimental than ever.

Personally I can't wait to see how being an archer/thief hybrid will play out.

All the spells getting tactical variations makes magic very tempting though.
