Are you going to play with a keyboard & mouse or a gamep

Post » Tue Dec 01, 2015 10:44 pm

I prefer a controller. Being used to console gaming I find it more comfortable on the hands and prefer the precision of directional movement with a thumbstick over WSAD. That said, mouse is a definitely more accurate even if you are well seasoned with a gamepad.

FO4 isn't a competitive shooter so I won't be at any disadvantage, I'll stick with comfort ;)

Keyboard & mouse. I find it easier to play shooters the old way rather than using a controller, just like the last two Fallouts. Hopefully, Bethesda will do a better job in making the UI usable with the mouse than Skyrim's original menu system.

On the other hand, my Steam controller is arriving in a couple weeks, Fallout 4 might be a good game to test it on...

I'm considering purchasing a gamepad to play Fallout 4 with, its been almost a decade since I've used one but it might be fun.

Gamepad mostly I play but with K&M when Im in combat to shoot guns.

I'm hoping it will let you switch instantly like in Metro game or Witcher 3.

I voted game pad but I've always played with mouse/keyboard. Going to give a newly purchased gamepad a try to cut down on stress to my wrists

I hope so too. Fallout 3 didn't, so I always had to unplug my gamepad every time I played it.

Mouse and keyboard. I bought an xbox controller for the Trials game, where it worked good. But I'm not able/can't get used to, using it for anything else.

There are games that work for me better with gamepad - Oddworld: New n Tasty, for example. Bethesda's Fallout/TES are not the case...

It's impossible to aim with a controller. And i say that after being exclusively on consoles from NES to PS2 :lmao:

Controllers are better for driving though, so if there really are vehicles, i hope the game can support both of them at the same time. Like Just Cause 2, mouse and keyboard for the shooting parts, controller for the driving and flying parts

Primarily on mouse and kb though.

Going to use the steam controller most likely. I get mine tomorrow so I have plenty of time to see how it feels before fallout 4.

Edit: Also, I can't stand how there are only 2 speeds you can go with a keyboard and mouse.

Gamepad all the way. Couch, large screen TV and an Xbox controller in my hands. The way Nature intended gaming to be.

Question about a gamepad.

How does the left stick effect the movement speed?

I've always funded my own gaming habits, which meant consoles as a teenager as they were cheaper. Now I've got a gaming rig for most of my games, supplemented by an Xbox One. I play with a controller where possible just because it's what I grew up with. That and my PC is plugged into my TV in the living room.

I just hope that with the PC version that key board and mouse control is given equal weight as game pad control. That was my only real big gripe with The Witcher 3 is that the PC version it was optimized for a controller and keyboard and mouse control was not given the attention it needed.

But at least it will not be like the early Assassins Creeds (all AC’s before AC4BF to varying degrees) that were nearly unplayable with keyboard and mouse without dislocating some fingers and no amount of remapping could fix the bad porting to PC.

Keyboard and mouse.

I'm going to be playing in first person and I prefer aiming with a mouse.

Also I'm sure there will be mods that enhance the interface and a keyboard will be required to make full use of them.

Wired Xbox 360 controller. I spend 8-9 hours per day at work using KB & Mouse. If I use KB & mouse to play games too I would be disabled by now. As a matter of fact I abandoned PC gaming for a few years because it was giving me problems. The Xbox controller brought me back to PC gaming.

I can't wait to see how the new Steam Controller performs. I'm tempted to order one but like to see some reviews before spending that much money.

I'd use both if they let me, at least if they make it work as elegantly as GTA V.

Same here if I can't get used to the new Steam Controller (which I'm expecting anyday now). For a person who works with a mouse and keyboard for an average of up to 16 hours a day, I can't ever play video games again with one. Yes it's most definitely accurate compared to a controller but to me, not enjoyable. There is nothing like sitting back on a bean bag playing Fallout on a 13ft. Projection screen! :fallout:

I'll be initially playing this on console so obviously controller there. But on PC, I've always been a keyboard+mouse type of person. Something about being so close to a screen on the pc makes using a controller feel weird to me.

Same here. Can't imagine playing this with my arm extended for long periods of time using a keyboard and mouse. Though I am considering purchasing a mechanical gaming keypad when I upgrade my PC.

Keyboard and mouse for me. I won't lie, though: I miss the left stick from the controller. Maybe it's my console origins talking, but I find stick-based movement to be far more intuitive than WASD movement. If I could find a gaming peripheral that was designed to be used with just your left hand that had a stick for movement and a number of programmable buttons, but that was designed to be used in conjunction with a mouse, I'd be quite happy. Unfortunately, I don't know if there's anything like that out there.
