Are you happy with Crytek's Demo decision?

Everyone is, don't worry, just buy portal 2 instead, support a company who deserves it.

Valve? but their making all there games for the Mac now... I wouldn't trust them personlay... but I will agree that portal 2 looks very fun, and i will get it.

yes, but they've never compromised the PC version at all and all valve games have been exactly what you would expect of a PC game. Cross platform isn't bad, compromising is :)

I love the new steamworks on ps3 :) valve are a developer who know how to treat their existing (and huge) fanbase on PC, and never let a new platform get in the way.

okay very true... it is the compromising that I am worried about... I mean gaming on a mac... please don't joke about such things... it's apple i fear will kill the games industry... look at BFBC2 on the iPad, and mirror's edge... on the iPad, or Dead space 2... on the iPhone... and gaming on the mac is also just horrific... I'm worried that due to Apple being so manstream that games companys will lean towards their products and dumb down our games... I'de keep a very close eye on vlave ??

Yes, gaming on a mac isn't as good, but valve won't compromise the quality of a PC version for another platform. I'd be wary if valve weren't the company who actually ARE the PC platform. It'd be like sony screwing over the ps3 by porting uncharted 3 to the wii and nerfing the ps3 version :D

Also, everything except mac (which is basically just openGL instead of dx) has had special versions made for it on apple platforms :) which is fine!

iPhone games are actually surprisingly addictive. It's one area where indie developers are making lots of progress. But I don't think it's going to kill "hardcoe" gaming any time soon. I mean, I could play angry birds all day, but let's face it playing something like ME2 or BFBC2 on a proper console or PC is a completely different experience (and one that I think is much more fun).

Pretty much no longer pre ordering

Unless i see a pc demo I am impressed with i will wait to see the reviews and others

I want to make sure this isn’t a console port with crappie graphics allot of games do this now days they port from console to pc and it looks like SHAT

This move makes me believe more crytek is just milking the crysis name and releasing a shat console port

Its like those movies that release a terrible sequel and do it to cash in on the name of an original blockbuster

if crytek did this they can kiss a whole lota money goodbye

Mine included going BYEBYE

PC gamers are smart enough to see if this is a console port and wont buy if it is seeing this demo i think its going to be one and thus will be the end of crysis

Then Microsoft will buy the crytek 3 engine in 2 years and then it will get hoed out like the unreal engine to everyone and its brother

IF I AM WRONG PROVE IT CRYTEK & EA RELEASE A DEMO THAT BLOWS AWAY PC but i bet all you got is low res console crap

thus why there is no PC DEMO

I feel absolutely backstabbed. If I do buy the game now, it'll be from the used games bin in gamestop.

No support for the fans that bought your games. I'm sick of this. I thought Crytek was the only developer that showed love to the PC. Apparently its **** blizzard which is a joke!

HELL NO!

If a Demo is not similarily released for the PC shortly after this announcement, I am waiting for pc reviews/not buying at all.

Sorry Crytek, it was nice doing business with ya for the last 7 years, but you obviously don't give a crap and cant see how badly EA is throwing this company down the ****.

+1

Just canceled my pre order :/

gonna wait for reviews now. I might just go buy another game instead and pick this one up later (so many good games to choose from... Deus Ex 3, Brink, DNF :D...).
cancelling preorders just because of a Demo? that's kinda... pathetic if you ask me...

It is pathetic =/

Nah, it's making sure you don't get ripped off. If crytek are disregarding your platform, especially when the platform getting bigged up is worse, then it's definitely justified waiting until reviews.

Not just because of a demo, canceling because of a lack of information. The exclusive demo pushed me over the edge, but constantly waiting for PC footage to reinforce my pre-order decision just wasn't cutting it. Not all of us are rich and can buy every single AAA game that comes out. We have to be choosy =/. Call it pathetic if you wan't but don't put it off as something asinine.

Nah, they just don't like money ^^

Since the worst business practice in the world is to invest heavily in a new multiplatform engine and only advertise on one of them :D

Happy that it allowed me to remove this game from my "Watch" list, free's up more room on the list now. Keep RO2 firmly at the top.

After playing the first Crysis demo that came free with a issue of PC gamer I had to get the collectors edtion. that demo sold the game to me... I never really heard much about Crytek or Crysis intill then, I only got the magazine for the UT3 demo... Then I thought, I'll give that 'Cysis' game a go... I just fell in love, and had to get it, not only get it but go out my way to get the collectors editon, and still to this day I think it's the best game ever...

Now that Crysis 2 is comming out with no PC demo is very sad, I mean demos do help sell the game, I'm sure I'm not the only example of this, if it's comming out on all 3 platforms then all 3 platforms should get demos...

Just saying... demos help sell. in this case it shows how much Crytek care...

RO2?

Also just wait to free it up later this month! Just wait after January, if there is nothing then I agree that you should.

To me that game looked meh. I liked the realism tho and the scopes looked really realistic for guns instead of a flat plane with a zoom and call it a scope in most FPS games.
