Are you happy with the info given about Skyrim from the G.I.

Post » Tue Jul 13, 2010 5:11 pm

People have been having ups and downs and i haven't seen a poll yet.

For the most part people do NOT like that there will be some level scaling, even thou all that is comfirmed is that it is for dynamic quests.

But for the most part i am very happy with everything so far, they seem to have come leaps and bounds since Oblivion(so far).
I don't even mind the quest line so far, even thou i never knew that the dragons were defeated before. I thought that they were sacred and they even helped in wars?
But anyways your thoughts!

I don't get why. Morrowind had lots of scaling to. Oblivion pretty much made it so the very phrase 'level-scaling' instills fear in the hearts of every gamer. You need at list a little bit for exploration to be rewarding and so the game doesn't get too easy after a while. What we need less of is leveled loot, more unique items please!

That means unique items with unique meshes!

The article itself was a bit vague and undetailed, so on that ground I wasn't happy with it. I wanted it to be written up like a report and not an extravaganza piece written by overenthusiastic fans. As for the information itself (what we learned), I was left with doubt about the game when I was hoping for optimism. Still looking forward to the game, though.

I haven't even seen the article yet so I can't judge, but my personal opinion. People are over reacting and whining to much, from what I've heard and seen it's amazing...I really think the complaining and trolling is unjustified considering that those scans people are talking about have horrible quality.

its not going to be a morrowind to oblivion type over haul but still looks to be a great reboot with most of the right things fixed and improved.

Haven't seen the article yet. But from what I have seen, the game is as I expected. Which is a good thing by the way.

Quite happy. Incredibly, it looks like more complex than Oblivion, and even Morrowind.

Hope that's true...

No.

Not because the info given was neccessarily bad, but because the things I care most about haven't been mentioned.

People disagree with you, therefore they're trolls. Got it.

If they did that it would leave nothing to the imagination. You need to leave the majority of the game to discover as you play.

Not what i meant. People can have there opinions. I was literally just talking about the people that are trolls, that would complain no matter what was reveiled about the game.

@Sleign- i wasn't saying Morrowind is better than Oblivion. I was just saying they came up leaps and bounds and general. Not trying to bash Oblivion since i liked both games just about the same.

My mistake. Personally even if those people were complaining, as long as they present reasons for their whining then I wouldn't consider them trolls.

This.

The basic mechanics were mentioned, but what I want is the MEAT of the game. The picture painted from Game Informer made me imagine a stick figure drawing, with nothing but the bare bones. I imagined a very bleak and empty world.

I want to hear about quests, factions, relations with NPCs, spell effects, the combination of abilities, etc. It's nice that the first things were hear about are those that will make the largest impact on BASIC gameplay, but I want to see what we'll actually be DOING in the game WORLD.

No it wasn't really your mistake, i made it seem like only my opinion matters. And yes if you have a valid reason then yes they wouldn't be trolls. I am personally just very excited. The plot seems to be great so far, civil war plus trying to stop the dragons. Seems to have a lot of political parts in the story as well, which everyone wants.

@ Orzorn- Yeah but at the same time this whole month is supposed to have info coming out. So that it didn't have everything i'm happy. The rest of the ten months would be lame if everything was reveiled now.

The article? It left me with the urge to build a time machine... and then use it to go back in time and kill Hitler.

No, but I can't [adjective from the dragon-language, censored to spare your ears eyes] wait.

You people see only straight-forward, You are obligated to use a level scaling system , even if at a minimum scale but still needed. There needs to be a balance in the whole integrity of the game .For example....your character is level 5 and you want to walk to the other major city but when you enter some forest a level 15 mob atacks you and obviously ,,,,crushes you.The whole problem with Oblivion's scaling system was that you could see only the same mobs over and over again until you advanced and other mobs appeared in the same area .Besides this the old creatures leveled at the same time with you .It was a total wreck that system....i admit it but i don't think Bethesda left the biggest problem with their game untouched or at least balanced.

I really hope Todd will honor us very soon with some gameplay presentation ,hopefully on chapters like he did on Oblivion .There is no problem with that now that the game has been revealed , the issue of G.I is out and everybody saw it .
