Are you looking forward to singleplayer or multiplayer more?

I know I have been very harsh on the game, but I just realized that most of it has to do with the multiplayer. To me, the multiplayer just does not strike me as being the good Crytek experience that I love. At this point I recalled that Crytek UK was pretty much working exclusively on multiplayer. Now, Crytek UK is not a bad studio, but given their console background, I suppose I am just not compatible with that style. Timesplitters is one of the finer console FPSs, but I just find PC FPSs to be lightyears ahead and so the console-oriented multiplayer angered me. To be fair, we did only see the Xbox 360 version, though it seems like it will be similar on PC, but I digress...

The E3 showing of Crysis 2's singleplayer was short, but sweet. Seemed a little closed in space, but it was a very small portion and not enough to judge the singleplayer. However, each trailer I have seen that deals with the singleplayer pumps me up. Granted, the multiplayer trailer pumped me up quite a bit, but definitely not as much as the singleplayer ones. Crytek makes really good trailers. Anyway, I look back at what information we are given about singleplayer and it sounds awesome. While suit modules may create imbalances in multiplayer, they will provide alternate ways of playing singleplayer without necessarily creating an unfair disadvantage to the player. Also, the singleplayer will be able to pump out superior physics, graphics, and level sizes since there is no worry about netcode. Most importantly, the main Crytek studio is working on it and I have mostly agreed with their gameplay designs so far.

So although my hopes for multiplayer are low, I am still greatly looking forward to the singleplayer and I hope to see more of it.

Ive always been more interested in Crysis's singleplayer(although I do enjoy Crysis 2 multiplayer). In fact, most of the time I played in Crysis 1 was in the singleplayer. I cant even remember how many times I have beaten the campaign. I cant get enough of it. So, even though I do like what the multiplayer has turned into, I have to say that I wont be playing it much because I will be too busy playing singleplayer over and over again.

The campaign is what interests me. The MP looks just like Quake Deathmatch with better visuals. Crysis Wars was also dull. I'll probably join in a few rounds when I'm at a loose end but I don't think it's something I'm gonna spend a lot of time on.

I'm hoping for a decent campaign with a strong narrative and the inclusion of a good writer on the team bodes well for that. That's where my £25 is going.

Singleplayer, because the multiplayer somehow feels... dumbed down, if you know
what I mean.

Fifty-Fifty.
Campaing has beatiful story.
Music & sup action. This is it!
Multiplayer, hmm..
Small maps and no powerstruggle. Bleh! But..
There are nice nanosuit skins, new weapons and undiscovered world.
But i still believe C2 will evolutionary game!

I'm hoping Crysis 2 keeps the high replay value of the original. I played through Crysis fix times. If there are various nanosuit upgrades and more options, I can see myself replaying the game ten times.

The Single player aspect has always been a more important to me in video games than the multiplayer, everything from the back story, the characters, the lore etc. help drive me and give me a sense that the world I'm playing in is worth fighting for.

My opinion.

Single Player for me. There just seems like there is so much to do in the open-world sandbox! The Be Strong trailer was jizztastic! Throwing barrels and crates and even throwing your enemies! I play almost strictly on the 360, and there are no games that have brought this type of gameplay to it. I can't wait!

Singleplayer has me more excited since its being developed by the Frankfurt team and still looks spectactular. I really think they nailed it this time, especially liked the decision to hire Richard Morgan for the story.

The Multiplayer still looks like the add-on it was in Crysis, it feels kinda mediocre. I don't see myself enjoying it too much, it seems dumbed down too heavily & generic.

I strongly agree with that point, :) . Sp was developed directly by the head branch and by the same people who brought us Crysis in the first place. It's...too...exciting to describe....;)

Even without that great of a plot, Crysis had amazing replay ability. I'm excited to see what happens when that gameplay mixes with a great storyline. SP all the way.
