are you satisfied with the patch?

Post » Tue Apr 20, 2010 12:08 am

I downloaded the patch for the PS3 and it took away Dead Money and my Classic Pack dlc and I don't know how to get them back. Pretty annoying and I don't know if it's happened to anyone else on the PS3.

Its nice that all these performance tweaks and weapon balance tweaks have been made, but I'm still bumping into the quest glitches (Arcade, Boxcars, Followers Safehouse etc.) which is a real shame.

I'm a 360 user and I am not satisfied. You would think that a patch would fix things but all the 360 patch did was break things that weren't broken. Supposedly they are fixing it but by the time I found out it was corrupting save files it was too late.

Hey guys, quick question for those of you who have tried the new patch. Is that annoying glitch still there when you're holding a rifle and your arms keep jumping up in the air blocking your vision? The break dance glitch? cause that annoyed the [censored] out of me and seems like it would be very easy to fix. Thanks

Played about 6 hours today on X-Box. Brand new character. Smoothest New Vegas play ever. Only one glitch -- a Powder Ganger was sunken in the ground; I used VATS with a knife and got stuck in the ground as well (fast traveled out, no problem).

I'm very, very pleased to say that the random arm movement did not occur. The arms moved once or twice when I looked up or down, but it seems deliberate.

Now I have a question -- has anyone else gotten some new spawns? I had a Powder Ganger up on the gecko cliffs Sw of Goodsprings, a Ghoul attack while I was fighting the raiders at the police station and a random Bark Scorp near the prison. Coincidence?

There's no proof save files were corrupted

I am most definitely not satisfied, nor am I even sure I will ever be.

I am not the only one with the issues concerning the shoddy reputation/karma system. Biggest problem is with the NCR rep.... which I am apparently "Accepted", yet any NCR or NCR affiliated people who see me without a NCR uniform attack me, and any Ranger will shoot on sight despite a uniform, though I am 99% positive I did nothing to deserve this.

Honestly, I couldn't care any less about tweaking weapons... majority of the tweaks seem to be a waste of time. Fix the bigger issues please. Yes, I may only be around 30 hours in and compared to some of you that is chump change, but with what little time I have to play these days I might as well toss the game out if I have to restart just to fix this ridiculous problem.

I have this same problem, I ended up deciding this character would align with yes man to save myself the hassle.

The patch did not patch my game it broke it. I bought F:NV one day ago at Fry's. Steam updated it immediately to 1.3 without my permission. Started a new game three times and all three times it crashed within 20 seconds in the classroom. FO3 and all other games play fine, why not this? I was so disappointed that to cheer me up I went to Steam and bought STALKER: Call of Pripyat ( it's downloading now and at 35% ). I can still reinstall F:NV it and not patch it ( Steam offline ), and it will be at the state it was in at launch. But I'm now looking forward to CoP and won't play two games at once.

Hope they can sort this mess with another patch.

Thats true, there is no proof. However the patch still caused my game to crash witch means it broke something that was not broken to begin with.

Yes, this is still happening to me. More now than ever before. I had to start a new character after the last patch and I always carry a fully modded Varmint Rifle and Single Shotgun at this point in the game. Every single time I crouch when I'm at ready arms, my limbs and rifle disappear from the screen. When I stand, they pop back in, with 50/50 chance that they are offset either too low or too high on the screen.

My guess? This could have something to do with faulty event triggering (on_crouch, on_stand, etc.) or a problem getting correct values when drawing the arms and rifle to the screen. Or both.

It doesn't break the gameplay but it is annoying.

I wouldn't know as I'm an XBox owner and I have been informed not to download the new patch.

What in the name of god happened to the clock? Days last about 39 hours now. It skips from one day to the next not at Midnight, but at whatever the hell time it feels like. Used to be 6AM, now it's 10:23 PM

My days change at 7pm now. Still 24 hours long though.

Yeah but I can load a game in which the day is almost over and then it lasts 24+9-15 hours into the next one before it skips to the next day. How the [censored] am I supposed to know when the vendors are going to reset? I have gun mods to buy [censored] IT
Every time I use the wait function, the day of the week resets, so it's always 24 hours from whenever I start the clock to the next day. 12PM Sunday comes before 12 AM Sunday

No freezes in over 3 hours which seems good but I have just started a new character. Did get the bug going up black mountain when I got surrounded by mutant my riot shotgun would not fire even though I was mashing R1 :(

Also just saw one of the most hilarious bugs in my gaming life. Went to nellis air force and 5 boomer children were stuck inside eachother floating across the ground very slowly, when i spoke to 1 of them they would seperate from the 'group' 1 at a time then after all 5 were seperated they turned around and walked the other way

On the balance side I am loving thump-thump but Im playing on very easy just to ensure the explosives are tip-top

I'm having the problem of pressing "continue" causing the roulette wheel to spin forever, but before I got that, very satisfied. Especially with the Service Rifle and the subsequent boosting of NCR trooper performance.

I wouldn't say "hundreds"; That's a bit over-exaggerating.

Count them yourself if you like. The Community Bugfix Compilation includes 137 individual fixes into one mod file. Some of those 137 fixes only fix one thing, but a lot of them fix multiple issues.
