Yes I played for 3 hrs last night on ps3 and got 0 freezes. Very good.

The weapon changes I don t know it looks like it made the game even eaiser, but I ll have to play more to make a final decision. I though they were fine the was they were. Something needs done with fo hostile bad ass NPCs to actually make them bad ass if it were up to me.

Main thing is the game works way, way, way better. Great job on that.

Very! I can turn on my music again so I don't have to deal with freezes, it's lovely!
And I've made PewPew, Tesla-Beaton Prototype, and the Chainsaw official members of my weapons list thanks to the changes. Well done.

Yeah, I'm liking it. Haven't really been using guns or the melee weapons because I'm on my Ew char but I'm liking the stability improvments. Loading screens are disapearing faster, the game is running smoother, less random freezes, it's really nice.

That sounds great for all the PS3 users. We all got shafted with Fallout 3 on the PS3, it's nice to see some love for the PS3. I hope the patch fixes the issues with the Xbox version since I thought I would go the safe route and get New Vegas for Xbox since I dealt with all the issues of Fallout 3 + DLC on the PS3.

I haven't spent hours and hours playing it, but in general I like it. No major fixes for me, since I was fortunate enough not to have any big problems to begin with, but it's a lot of tiny things where I suddenly think 'hey, I'm glad that doesn't happen anymore' and it adds up to a more smooth gameplay experience. And I don't mean the weapon changes. Those are nice tho...the few I've tried do feel better balanced overall now.

I am pretty satisfied, except they still haven't address the NCR/Legion NPC imba and poison/throwing weapon inconvenience.

The only problems I have with the patch are the following:

1) There is a gigantic list of known bugs which could have been fixed with absolutely minor script/stat tweaks, but weren't. For example, Boone's headtracking and behavior in combat is still broken.

2) Why do .223 rounds no longer have a -8 DT effect?

3) Random entries have had their FormIDs changed, which breaks a few mods. (Easy to fix, but still... why?)

Other than that I'm fairly happy. The weapon rebalancing is especially welcome across the board, with the possible exception of the Plasma Caster losing its minor area-of-effect damage on impact.

I'm not. sure they may have fixed a bunch of bugs, but they introduced a new one that's really annoying. I have to start a new game, skip the cutscene, wait for the bright light, THEN I can load my good save. Hitting continue or load just causes the game to crash a second into loading.

That's actually a way to resolve a corrupted save. People were having issues like that before the patch and that's how you resolve it. Weird I know.

Overall, I'm really satisfied. Splash Damage works now, weapon changes are logical and give all of the weapons a chance to shine, and the improvements to the stability to the game really showed from when I loaded up the game. A lot less stuttering than before and an general increase in framerate for me.

I'm very satisfied. Although it did freeze when I was at Hoover Dam (*Spoilers* When I killed that Sniper in "For the Republic, Part II *Spoilers*).

He re-assesess his AI package every few seconds to make his quest progress correctly. Before they made the change, he would skip it entirely.

I'm absolutely drooling in anticipation of this patch. Hopefully the Euro-PS3 users will get this today, as wednesdays are the usual update days. Hopefully in around 12 hours or so.

*Crosses fingers*

Yes, this is true. However, when the quest script checks the various conditions and determines that Boone doesn't need to change his current AI package, the script calls "EVP", which makes him temporarily exit his AI package and then restart it. This is why he keeps reholstering his weapon every 5 seconds while in combat.

Take out those EVPs and the script does exactly what it was designed to, except without neutering Boone's ability to do anything.

Can someone explain to me what, exactly, Boone's quest issues were, that were affected by this? Because his quest/dialogues always worked just fine for me. I assume it was some particular branch/choice in the quest dialogues or something (that I never picked), that wasn't working as intended?

I wish I had the patch...

Stupid Microsoft. Everything comes to Xbox first if it costs money, but when something's free they don't care when their customers get it. Greedy little pukes.

I had heard that Microsoft specifically pays money for DLC's to come to their consoles first. So they are delaying titles just because they want it first

Very pleased with the patch. Game runs smoother than ever, and the gameplay is very well balanced now

There is one small bug with the lip syncing on my end (the lip syncing and animations go faster than the audio), but turning on Vsync (which consoles have on naturally) or using the New Vegas Stutter Remover seems to fix it.

So not a big deal.

So wait, a business wants to make money to continue operating? SAY IT AIN'T SO!

If you had your way, Bethesda would have no income, these games wouldn't exist.

Heh, Microsoft are to the gaming industry what Sony used to be when they first entered the scene! I'm just waiting for Apple and Googles efforts now to truly grab the money..

He wasn't initiating conversation at the key story progression moments aka when you got "history points".

Hm. I see. So he was supposed to have something to say every time you earned a history point? That would make sense. I remember it took me a while to figure out that I should constantly check his dialogue to see if a new line was available, until I later read the wiki to know what those points were & knew when to talk to him. I just thought it was supposed to be like that. Silly me.

He said things on his own for 2-3 history point situations for me but none of the others...but once I had all the points he initiated his main quest on his own & the rest all worked fine.

Thanks for clearing that up. I was wondering what the change was for.

I think the patch fixed companions dying when you stimpak them while them being poisoned, or I just had good timing and used it just after it wore off.

I also noticed using a stim on them on hardcoe heals them over time rather than instantly before the patch. Of course this may also be because of FormId mess up in my favor.

What patch? This was just a weapon/ammo balance tweak, I don't see any bugs fixed. I had a few quests I skipped because they were impossible to complete or progress due to bugs, none of which have been fixed. As already mentioned, Boone's combat is still broken, which was caused by the previous patch. The Ultra-Luxe bath house still causes the game to crash/lock up, which has probably been the most talked about bug in the support forums. Look at the list of bugs fixed by the http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=38326, pretty much every one of those have not been fixed by this "patch."
