Are you skeptic? Or skipping?

Post » Sun Jul 10, 2011 4:17 pm

I was just wondering, for all these people not liking Bethesda removing certain things from the game, are you just skeptic about the game? Do you still thinks it looks amazing and fun? Or are you just not planning on buying it at all?

While I'm apprehensive about some of the paths they took, I think it will probably end up a fine game in it's own right, so I'll give it a chance. I doubt you'll find many people who -won't- at least give it a try.

I myself may read and review the forums, but alas my final view will only come when I have finally played the game at least a single play through Vanilla at first. It looks amazing and fun, but we shall see.

I'll certainly give it a try
Some of their decisions I may not agree with but sadly they aren't making the game just for me
There have been elements of every TES game I didn't like. Hopefully Skyrim will be as moddable as previous games were

I'm looking forward to it even more than I did Oblivion, which is saying something.

I don't understand the attitudes people have on this site. Is it normal for people to get so defensive and irritable about the tiniest things in gaming fandoms?

Oblivion was the first Elder Scrolls game I had ever played, and quite frankly, I thought it svcked when I started playing it. However, I gave it a few more hours and once I got the hang of it I grew to like the game and now it is in my top ten best games I've ever played. I imagine the same thing will happen with Skyrim. If I don't like it at first, I will a few hours later. So no, I'm not skeptical about the game, nor will I be skipping it.

If you weren't planning on buying Skyrim, why would you be on these forums? Of course I'm going to buy Skyrim. However, I'm not happy about at all about relationships and children. And it's not like they're not including anything important from past TES games.

Lol I totally agree, but I think that are complaining just for the sake of complaining even though they will probably love Skyrim. :)

To me, it looks simply fantastic... I am going to play it and appreciate it for the game that it is... Skyrim... Not Morrowind, Oblivion, or any other.. Just Skyrim :foodndrink:...

I reserve my judgement. I have no real issue with any of their design choices, aside from what I've seen of the UI so far.

Quite normal, actually. They say sometimes the smallest things can have the biggest impact...I think people are mostly just afraid, since once Skyrim comes out lord knows when we'll see another Elder Scrolls game. =P

Well, I didn't think it was confirmed that you could have children. And why would you not like the relationships? It's not like you have to do it, it's just an added option. I'm not sure about your last part though. =/

There was a point, a couple of years ago, when I was incredibly excited for the next TES. I realized that there was a pretty good chance that the next game was going to come out for the same generation of consoles as Oblivion, which meant that Beth was going to be limited in what they could do graphically, which, to me, meant that they had a golden opportunity to pour that much more time and resources into gameplay and content.

That excitement was streamlined away months ago.

I imagine I'll buy the game sooner or later, but that's about the extent of it, honestly.

Way I see it gaming will evolve(As it has so much already!), and at some point eye candy will become a lot more simple to deal with (If it hasn't already). But developers will probably always aim for that which is closest.

Personally not really worried about the things that were removed in a larger view they were useless such as classes.

Now a few things that added does bother me but all of them I can get use to like the GPS map.

Only thing that I truly hate is that COD like points pop up filling half of your screen with useless crap just because to acknowledge you did something and make the ADHD kids feel good.

Also if UI svcks for PC I will mod it out and hopefully that the 2 previous things are included in the UI changes I will be using both of the things are due to me liking clean screens I want to enjoy the games very vivid environments not looking at big numbers bulky objects on my screen.

Everything else is great, Perks fine, Archery mechanics sound fantastic, and lets not forget the most epic part of the game Dragons.

Being skeptical is common. Morrowind fans were really hyped for Oblivion, it was suppose to be better in every way, at least that what they expected. When they got Oblivion they were understandably disappointed.

I wasn't disappointed in Oblivion, because I was disappointed with Morrowind. I thought Morrowind was going to be everything Daggerfall was and more, it wasn't. RPGs aren't the same as the old RPGs: Ultima, Might & Magic, Dagggerfall, etc.

I'll except Skyrim no matter what, as I come to except that games aren't made the same anymore.

The only time this series had any improvement was Arena to Daggerfall; every other game can only shine when enjoyed in it's own right.

I am right on the edge of getting it used for no more then 29.99

I dont want to reward their decisions of ripping the RPG elements out of a game by buying it full price

Bioware got the message on ME2 and DA2

Hopefully Bethesda will get the message with Skyrim
