Pumped.

There was a lot to like with the improved combat system, crafting, building, and power armor customization. The world looks great, as well.

The character's back story isn't too much of a roleplay killer, as they have lived a plain enough life before hand. Will need to see more though, with regards to how much freedom you have with dialogue choices, and how that affects the game.

The absence of skills is sad, but i knew they were gonna be dumbing down one or two things. I hope power armor isn't just a gimmick, too.

You say this a lot in various phrasing, and I don't agree with a single line of your post this time.... but do wish you'd clarify... at least the LoTR bit, that doesn't make any sense to me.

I do not think that you understood the gist of my post or anything in it.

Agreed. I could definitely do with 2 different takes on a compelling franchise like Fallout. That way both groups of fans would be happy and we don't have to wait 4 - 6 years for the next Fallout.

Regardless of which game people preferred, Fallout 3 or New Vegas, focused sequels to both can only be more of a good thing. I'm curious to see how Obsidian would step up the gaming world since bland world exploration and enemies respawning in the exact same locations seems to be the most notable negatives against New Vegas.

I definitely don't see Bethesda handing of TES to anyone else to remix. TES is Bethesda's pride and joy. Let's just hope they don't port TES VI GOTY to another company like they did with Oblivion GOTY. That vampire glitch I read about stopped me from purchasing that.

Pretty much now I know for sure that there's modding and paid modding seems to have been kicked into the long grass.

Absence of skills? You mean like perks? I saw perks like Gun Nut and Hacker being used in the crafting videos. I doubt the power armor is just a mission only basis. Seems like Todd is going out of his way to express player freedom this time around. I think the power armor used in this mission is a tutorial mission you can simply bypass by not going in the building.

Very excited. Looks like they have put a ton of time and detail into this game. From looking at how this poll has turned out, it seem the large majority of people are equally excited. The small but loud minority of people on these boards who are not would be complaining regardless of what BGS did unless the game was tailored exactly to their idea of Fallout 4 should be. Do I like the idea of a voiced protagonist? No. But it sure won't cause me to endlessly complain about the game for not being developed exactly how I think it should be.

I will buy this.

One question: would it be a bad idea to make a screenshot from the gameplay demo and make an avatar out of it?

Actually, that vampire glitch was in the GoTY edition because BETH made it with the two DLC's in it. The vanilla Oblivion did not have this glitch. I know this one all too well being a PS3 owner who bought the GoTY and whose main character is a vampire forever.

So yeh, it wasn't the company that did the port that was at fault, it was Beth. Honestly, the ported vanilla game that PS3 got was a better version than the one the X360 got.

I'm not impressed with how the first person shooting looks, but everything else has been fantastic and I cannot wait to get my hands on this beauty.

I liked what I saw, and I am excited.

But does anyone remember Skyrim?
It looked great at E3, but as I recall the game outside the demonstration left a lot to be desired.

Bethesda has a habit of going all in on the first hand.

Dat weapon crafting though....

Off topic: Did any one else think ESOs part was pathetically cute?
It was the most underwhelming part of the conference.
They said single player a whole lot, too much for what is supposed to be a MMO.
And that Dark Brotherhood bit at the end.... It was a poor imitation of Todds demonstration at E3 2011. I doubt it got anyone excited.

I'm okay with the Skyrim style leveling and perk charts, but the lack of a hardcoe mode or weapon degradation is worrying. All in all,I'm cautious about this one.

Heh. It was a monumental wasted opportunity for ZOS. 500k people watching... And they show footage which fails to make prospective players excited and makes current players mildly annoyed at a repeat of announcements from 2014 that STILL don't have any release date in sight, only Soon™ The game really had potential, it's sad to watch it wasted like that.

The card game was worse. Oh my god, why did they think they needed a TCG? Frankly, I'm now holding out for The Elder Scrolls: Monopoly

On the presentation: I'm hyped. Everything I expected to be there is there, plus more. Some things seem different, so we'll see how that goes before I launch the nukes. Not too happy with a voiced protagonist, but it doesn't bother me much.

I actually think TES-themed Monopoly would be a better idea because it's a nice physical collectible. The card game is going to need all the luck in the world to go up against Hearthstone. Logically, the next step is surely a TES MOBA? *shakes head*

I really hope that you will be able to converse with NPCs at least as much as you can in Fallout 3.

What we've been shown so far implies that there is less NPC dialogue than in Fallout 3. :cryvaultboy:

I'm less excited as more news is released, don't get me wrong I'll definitely play it and I'm sure it'll be a fun game in it's own right, but I sincerely expect to require more then a few mods to return the things bethesda streamlines out..

The DEV time and resources that go into a TCG are relatively small compared to something like a moba.
Gwent was well received, and is only a mini game for the Witcher 3.
I think TES legends has potential.

As for ESO. It exists in a strange world where nobody really cares for it. But Bethesda has spent to much to just let it go.
Whats-his-face wasn't at the conference because he was working hard on the game. He wasn't there because he would've been booed off the stage.
But they had to do something. So they shoehorned a short video into the presentation. Probably hoping it would ride on the success of fallout and doom. Kinda a whom "while you wait for these awesome games play some ESO". Fine, but I'd rather play TW3 and Elite while I wait.

Like almost everything I see, main issue is the dialogue system who not only look very clumsy on pc but also looks like will be very limited, hard to say how hard it hurt dialogues. Compared with this skill is an minor feature.

Everything else is way better than I expected. world look more open than expected, combat looks better, crafting is unbelievable.
