SO are you still buying Skyrim?

Post » Fri Jun 17, 2011 8:01 pm

Well since the new E3 interview came out about armour being merged (greaves and chest piece) I've seen people say they aren't going to buy Skyrim ( major over reaction).
I personally don't really care as i didn't bother about the look of my armour, more just it's stats. Skyrim is so vast and i think people are being majorly melodramatic over this subject.

So are you really not going to buy it or not?

I am buying. Never been in doubt. The cities being walled was a much much more awful downer for me than separate armor.

Its so item drops and item movement can be saved after you exit the city.

To people saying no can i ask why the whole vastness of the game will be ignored by you because of something so minuscule like armour?

It may be an overreaction when you look at just this one thing, but for me personally it seems Skyrim has been more -1 with every news that comes out.
Spellmaking, skills, classes, attributes, and now yet another layer of customisation.

And a whole lot of minuses one adds up to a very big negative.

No. I will no longer buy Skyrim at release date.
I will rent it and give it an honest chance. I want it to be a good game and I really want to like it but I am not going to get burned again like with Oblivion, only more so.

Stupid thread, sorry but its true. If anyone is stupid enough not to buy Skyrim and all its awesomness due to armour well than tisk tisk..... no one cares if they buy it or not. Everyone who whines about the armour and says they will not buy Skyrim due to that is lying, they will buy it if they are true to the series.

Pfft. Armor. Yes I'd prefer it if they kept Oblivion's number of armor pieces, or gone back to Morrowind's even, but it's hardly game breaking.

I'm in it for the large explorable world and the mods anyway, and we're definitely getting those.

No the thread isn't stupid, it's an opinion of some people that i would like to elaborate on.

Of course I buy it. I don't know what Bethesda could do to make me not buy the game, but this is definitely not it :tes:

OH NO! One less armor slot! Total game breaker right there. Now all those hundreds of quests and epic battles with dragons will svck if I can't wear glass greaves with me elven cuirass.
Why does Bethesda even bother developing games any more!?

This armour travesty is just one of many things that will stop me from buying Skyrim, among them weightless carrots, no playable Sload, totally unrealistic dragons, no Dwemer steam trains, and the inexcusable lack of armoured dinosaur mounts.

Get it together, Bethesda.

Never entered my mind not to buy it.
Even if there does turn out to be any things that i`m not overly keen on, I`m sure the overall experience will be fantastic and keep me going for a months/years.

There is a kind of ridiculous whining on this thread that has to stop.
It is this kind of unthinking overzealous fundamentalism that gives internet forums a bad name.

Why dont you try formulating an opinion instead of just attacking with all the wit and and grace of a five year old?

People are entitled to formulate an opinion without being bashed by the very devoted fan crowd.
People have a right to critique aspects they are unhappy with without being dragged to the pyre at the town square.

Yes, I am unhappy with a lot of the streamlining and removal of features I see in Skyrim.
Does that mean that there is any reason for this relentless bashing?

For shame.

Wow people are sooooo negative its a joke. Sure weve seen -1s about Skyrim, but im sorry have you played the game? Do you know what surprises Bethesda are holing up, have you played the MQ? Dont be so pathetic.
This thread is pretty stupid as well, Im sure most people will buy this game on here because its the next Elder Scrolls game whatever happens.

Perhaps the first picture is weak armour he got at the start and maybe he upgraded it through smithing.
Just a thought.

Its possible. I mean, at this point in time my guess is that armor was combined to remove enchantment stacking, but through smithing you can have everything to armor thats just pauldrons to pualdrons with a shirt under it to pauldrons with armor under it.

But if that's true...why have they not said so yet? Im just...confused.

Well, they aren't going to release all their information in one day. They'll be telling us more stuff in the future.

I dislike the idea of armour being consolidated as much as the next person... but come on... people would actually refuse to buy the game over this?

Bethesda Game Studios sure are lucky to have such a respectable and loyal fanbase.

In fact, it really bothers me that this thread even exists. Developers (who have worked really hard on Skyrim) are going to come on these forums, see this thread, and think their fans are all a bunch of whiney, ungrateful kids willing to turn against the series at any point. What they SHOULD be seeing is intelligent discussions about what people like and dislike, what should be changed, etc. If I were a developer, i'd be more likely to listen to those threads than ones like this.
