I don't because you always have money leftover and it is difficult (for me) to tell how much I am really spending on things.

Not always if packs like NV DLC is related to the amounts of points you can buy. Know what you mean though, I have about 540 MS Points.

There's always the option of just buying 800 points directly from your console.

Still waiting for MS to go to dollar amounts.

They won't, it is because it can confuse people so they don't know how much they are spending. Once I got it in my head that 80MSP = $1 then it became easy.

ya, pc & ps3 just have cash. never understood why xbox & wii use those wierd point systems.

i got $20.96 i think, so im good

Because it a way for people who don't have a debit card or credit card to still buy things online. Its just a conversion of money, nothing more. I see no problem with it.

And before anyone says you cant convert the points back to cash. While true, it differs none to gift cards. Stores are legally able to decline cashing out gift cards, except in California, but the balance has to be $10 or lower. I've heard nothing about other states.

yeah, you can use your credit card. But I get a steady stream of $10 best buy cards, so I get my micropoint cards there.I don't want to use my personal cards online due to various stores being hacked recently (not to mention ps3).

You're protected against that. Your bank will reimburse you for any fraudulent transactions.

I have a low limit CC i use for exclusively on line use. :)

I was kidding- no one like MS fun-bucks.

It's just there so they can get more money out of you.
