Are you taking your Oblivion character to Skyrim?

Post » Fri Dec 25, 2009 8:18 pm

Hey forum!

Like it says in the title; are you going to take the character you had in Oblivion and recreating him/her for Skyrim?

I don't know if there's going to be a way to actually export the character as a file with all stats. and gear and all, but what I mean is; are you going to make your Skyrim character the same race/class/build/appearance as your Oblivion one? It fits timeline wise too, considering it's a direct sequel.

I know I am, my Oblivion main character is definitely traveling to Skyrim!

I hope your character isn't a human, then, as it seems likely that'd make you over 200 years old.

Nope but my Skyrim character will be of the same bloodline as my Oblivion and Morrowind characters. :celebration:

This might seem a bit stupid to some people, but I have plenty of other characters too so it doesn't really matter.

No, not that I don't love my OB characters, I just don't think it's possibly to roleplay my master of the mages guild, traveling to skyrim and being a nobody all of the sudden

200? I thought Skyrim was like, a week after Oblivion. My character is an Imperial! :dead:

Oh well, I'll just make him the great grandson or something.

Woah there, there's no official word on that. The books were apparently meant to bridge a 200 year gap between the games. The only hint of Skyrim being a direct sequel comes from the ambiguity of the Eurogamer article, which was obfuscated by language barriers and hurriedness even when it was being written.

But yes I usually end up making either a Dunmer or Breton as my main character in TES games (my Nerevarine was a Dunmer and my OB character was a Breton) and I dislike the Nords very, very much so I shall probably be making a Dunmer in the vein of my MW character.

At least, I hated Nords in Oblivion. All with the same voice and all ugly as hell with no beards. I'm sure Skyrim will do them justice. They just don't suit my magic/stealth hybrid preferred classes.

We can't be sure, that the game is going to take place 200 years after the oblivion crysis.

That could be a cheap trick, to make us buy the book.

Hell no.
But I'll be taking at least a few of my Morrowind characters there. ;)

Nah, that thing just doesn't cut it for me. I like new beginnings - new hero, new journey, new destiny and all that. As much as I love my old characters, as far as I'm concerned their story has been told. :)

No. Though, I am going to make a similar character to the one I use in Oblivion.

Good question.

I wouldn't mind playing as Gregreo Oscarus again, but he's had his time.

Plus, I'm not sure if I could make a good looking 60+ year old Gregreo Oscarus without him looking like a rotting corpse.

It's time I make a female character and have her achieve legendary status. Gregreo's story has been told. He has no buisness in Skyrim.

Well, considering the game takes place after The Infernal City, no. I don't bring my characters over. However, I do have a Dunmer blood line that goes across all games. So, yes. Another Lleondas will play the hero yet again!

No, I like hearing about my old characters' deeds in rumors. It feels kind of cool that my new character has no idea who they were, but I had been there on their entire journey and can just load up their save files any time I want if I wish to retell their story.

Plus, I like to think that their eventual fate was unknown.

Only one, Narved Chillvein, my Nord warrior.
This is how it's gonna go down:

Narved was injured. He was out in the Great Forest, in the middle of nowhere. No one was coming to save him.
He wasn't sure why the minotaurs had attacked. There were ten of them and a minotaur lord.
He had beaten them back and killed the lord. Not before it had pierced him through the ribcage with it's horn though.
And as he lay there, stranded with his lifeblood flowing onto the cold hard ground, he grunted.
It was not his time to die on this day. Not like this.

And yet, in the 3E in the month of Frostfall, Narved died.
In the 3E late on into the Sixth Century, there was a young boy, broken and hurting, but very much alive.
His name is Narved Chillvein.
He is Dovakiin.
Dragonborn.

I always eventually make a good looking female Breton mage/sorceress and her name is always Ivana Glade.

...I know you really didn't need to know that. :ermm:

It goes through the family. I have made a family tree that starts in the age of Arena and ends in the age of Skyrim.

No, I won't do that. But I will use the same names, and I often create similar builds. But my first Skyrim character will probably be a Nord, something I otherwise rarely play.

If possible I always play(1st play through at least) a fighter type character with long silver(blond if sliver not possible) hair and blue eyes(one blue, one green if possible). For Elderscrolls I play Nords(first play through). I name them Mike or Mikael.

Unless Bethesda makes some kind of save transfer like BioWare did with ME, no i can't imagine i will do it. Infact, i don't think i would do it anyway. I want to start a new adventure in Skyrim. But i do love the idea and was sorely disappointed it wouldn't be an option in Dragon Age II.

First I want to see what the game allows me to do. And even if it was possible, I wouldn't continue with my existing character.
