are you a veteran team based game player

Post » Wed Aug 18, 2010 3:18 pm

as brink is a team and assist based game have you played other proper team based games before like Team fortress, counter-strike, battlefield 2 where teamwork is the name of the game. games like Cod and Halo feel like your playing yourself online so dont count. it would let us know if there will be a majority of people already clued up in this type of game that are going to be buying brink.

Team Fortress 2 I have played, yes :P

But this aint that much like TF2.. TF2 got more focus on killing than BRINK does, or is this not just talking of Objectives?

its more to do with the working as a team aspect and helping your team mate so that the whole team is rewarded by your teamwork. and not just soloist kill stat freak.

MAG game made for tactics and teamwork.
How else are you going to take down a line of 4 bunkers (which are the enemies forward spawn point) Treble A battery, mortar battery, burn off towers, cool off towers, motor pools sensor arrays and fuel pumps, not to mention 32 enemies defending all of these objectives at all costs. Can't be done without the help of an organised group of players.

I swear, If I run into a lone wolf or two, I'm bailing.
If I wanted to lose, I'd lose with an organized team, trying their best to beat another organized team.

Take your inner kill/death pride and shove it up CoD's bumhole. I hear they have a new map pack. Perfect time to measure your peen.

I said yes, but i wouldn't consider myself a veteran. This game looks too good to pass up though.

Battlefield, BF2, BF Heroes, TF, TF2, CS, Day of Defeat, MAG, ET:QW, MoH (the old PC ones not the new one), and plenty of others, as well as RPGS and such that are team based but not FPS games.

*Brings up Steam library*

Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead 2, Monday Night Combat, ET:QW, among many others.

I'm a team player by heart, and a point-man by action.

Hahah im not so certain about that. I dont consider myself to be a teamplayer. I just do everything i can to win the game and that includes helping out teammates getting a objective. Same in CSS the only reason im backing up teammates and they back me up is because they want to win :).

Oh yes i'm a veteran alright. Return to castle wolf, wolf et, et quake wars = 1,000s of hours of game play. Medic is my main class. If you roll with me you won't need to respawn ;)

I played Halo competitively, which sure as hell required teamwork and the team who worked together better often won. I wouldn't be so fast to dismiss it just because the team-based aspect isn't obvious.

Let's see, I've played Global Agenda, TF2, BFBC2, and Monday Night Combat.
I'm kind of tired of lone wolf games like CoD and I'm hoping that Brink will be similar to the "golden age" of Global Agenda (before the Sandstorm patch for those of you that played) minus the jetpacks, of course.

CSS, TF2, and if you get a good, cooperative team in Halo, it makes a incredible difference in gameplay.

BF2 mod Project Reality. You practically get kicked for not using teamwork.
